This is a 1988 Malibu Skier. I have owned it for 10 years and it has been a fantastic family play boat. We wakeboard, ski, barefoot and tube with this boat. The previous owner was a high level wakeboarder and had a buddy who was a Malibu tech. They modified this boat by adding a malibu wedge and a tower, which really makes this boat a nice wakeboard boat. This boat also had a new Chevy 350 Vortec block put in by the Malibu tech when the owner moved from a warm to a seasonalclimate and the block froze. I'm guessing there are 200-300 hours on the new engine, almost all put on by myself, and I maintain my gear very well. They did it right and this boat has great power, never misses and starts immediate every time. I added electronic ignition and a hotter coil and that made it essentially trouble free. The drive is true, there is no vibration and the skags, shaft, prop and rudder are all perfect. The velvet drive is just that, very soft in and out of gear. The boat comes with a matching V/M dual axel trailer. WhenI bought the boat the interior was rough. A year or two afterI bought it I committed to a winter project of fixing it up right, andthe interioris at near new level. The boat does have a stereo with on board speakers. The exterior is good. There are some mild chips and nicks especially on the keel. I'm not as good with gel coat asI am with the interior so the outside is clean, polished and looks great, but has some minor blemishes, mostly not readily visible. You will notice in the photos that I added updated Malibu graphics. This boat gets attention in that it is so nicely done for its retro looking vintage. I think that is the key to this boat - it gives you a great looking and great performing wakeboard boat at 1/4 to 1/8 the cost of a newer boat. We had hours of family fun andenjoyed wakeboarding, skiing, barefooting, tubing or just boatingfor a very reasonable cost. My family has grown and other activities keep us from using this enough to justify keeping it.
I will keep this boat from freezing for a reasonable period of time if pick-up is delayed and I will work with you fairly if we need to winterize before pick up. I also have a spare prop, a barefoot boom and numerous skis and wakeboards that I would be willing to sell if you are the winning bidder.
