We took refuge in the spacious walk-through open bow, which is well-padded with storage options underneath the seats and stainless-steel grab rails in the places you need them. Malibu widened the walkways around the low-profile motor box, too. Wherever we walked, we tooknote of the durable floor engineered to dampen sound. The hand-stitched vinyl upholstery accented with aluminum emblems also caught our eye. And the standard center floor storage locker, dual gas fills, corner-mounted rear exhaust vents and special gelcoat accents above the rub rail all made for nice touches.Two other innovations are particularly user-friendly. The new postless molded windshield really tops off the LXi, literally and figuratively. A stainless-steel accent adds a touch of style, while the lack of posts everywhere but at the bow walk-through creates an unobstructed view from the inside and a sleek, futuristic look from the outside. The rear storage consists of a split-lid hatch that rises from the middle and offers access from the back seat and the swim platform.While the principle of "the more the better" holds true for the interior, the old "less is more" idea is what we like to see in slalom wakes. We weren't disappointed. Power up to skiing speed, and the wakes virtually disappear.It's nothing but smooth skiing for as far as the eye can see.
