Mako 238 Walk Around

1986 Mako 238 project.Purchased this boat over the winter after years of searching for a good restoration candidate. Hull and transom on this one are in unbelievably good condition. (Transom doesn't even have any spiders in the gel, and the brass through hulls are in tact).Boat has an 1999 Evinrude FICHT 200 that the previous owner said "never ran right". I was going to repower-but tested the compression for giggles and the numbers were solid. I have no idea what is wrong with it mechanically. ( I purchased the boat for the hull).I started work in December by preparing to replace the original fuel tank. I dug out all of the foam and that's where it sits.I recently accepted a new role in my professional life, and will have far less time dedicate to this project than it deserves. Hoping to pass her on to someone interested in restoring her to her former glory.It's a 1986 boat..so of course there's lots of little projects (all aesthetic) in addition to the new gas tank/repowerClean Title.No Trailer.Local Pickup Only.
