16 ELECTRIC CRUISER BOAT - Mahogany / Maple Masterpiece. This is a unique, 16'4" one-of-a-kind fully electric wooden cruiser, built by a master craftsman in NY State.It is extremely stable, even when fully loaded and super easy to operate.It was originally made as a proof of concept to lead to production units but the regulatory requirements to certify a boat became too expensive and the builder abandoned the effort.This boat is a masterpiece. The Hull is Mahogany and the deck is maple, covered with a fiberglass shell and 10 coats of clear epoxy. The body looks like new and requires minimal maintenance.The drive train is 100% electric, powered by a MinnKota 24V trolling motor with twin screws. There are 4x12V (High capacity) batteries working either as 2 banks or all in tandem.Batteries are brand new (Cost $2,600) and they are maintained by a brand new battery tender that keeps them charged and maintained throughout the year.This boat requires ZERO maintenance except keeping the batteries charged. To do so, all you do is plug it into a normal 110v outlet. That's it.So far, I have operated it to about 4 hours of use and still had plenty of reserve, so, total autonomy is above 4 hours, possibly closer to 6. THIS BOAT IS NOT FAST. If you are looking for speed, this is not for you.Fully loaded with 6 people and gear, I get to about 6 mph, with only 2 people, it gets to 10 mph and I consider that an absolute max.Upgrading the propellers and rheostat may give it a bit more speed but I have not explored doing that seriously.The upholstry is brand new, made of washable cloth and removable.There is a full custom made cover that comes with it.Accessories are:Anchor light, mooring lines, 6 life jackets.The trailer is brand new and equipped with led lights. Trailer will accommodate a 20' boat.Motor is mounted to a custom made aluminum extension that allows it to pivot from high transport mode to operating mode. It is lowered and raised manually.No warranty offered nor implied.
