Classic 1988 28' Magnum Marine Center Console!This boat is a classic Magnum in very good condition. The photos were taken on 6/10/2014. I have owned it for over 8 years and it has been the subject of regular maintenance and continual upgrading. It has always been a fresh water boat and has been hoist kept out of the water for as long as I have owned it. It is used regularly (as regular as you can use a boat in Michigan, which means low hours) so it has always been maintained in good, safe condition and it has been properly stored winters. It has been used as a day pleasure boat and never fished or slept on as long as I have had it.Over the years since I have owned this boat I have done a number of upgrades. I installed new driver/passenger seats that flip up in the front to form a leaning post for standing while driving, and the rear seat and front seat in front of the helm have been re-upholstered to match the new seats, and I also installed a new top and top bows custom designed for this boat, a new custom designed windshield, a new ship to shore radio, a new AM/FM stereo radio w/CD (plenty loud enough to hear underway), a new GPS, and new graphics. In addition I have replaced one power-head and one lower unit and the batteries. Other equipment included would be the porta-potti, custom blue dock lines, anchor, anchor lines, a spare pair of props and life jackets. The boat runs and drives great, cruising very nice and economically at 3000 rpm + and doing approx 39 MPH at 3900 RPM, and topping out at a little over 50 MPH. The motors are 1988 Evenrude outboard Sea Drives and are very good running, dependable motors. They are 2 cycle engines with a separate oil injection tank. There is no engine hours gauge so the hours are unknown but a recent compression check has shown them up to spec and the lower units have been properly maintained. The boat and motors are in very good condition and have been a source of pride and enjoyment for me and my family for years, and we have received many thumbs up in appreciation of this classic Magnum. This is not a new boat or priced like one, but it is a very clean, well maintained boat that is ready to use when you buy it. I restore/rebuild vintage cars for a hobby and have shop facilities that made upgrading this boat a pleasure but it is time for something new. The trailer is serviceable but ugly. The boat was kept behind my house on my hoist so the trailer was only used twice a year to haul the boat 5 miles to and from my shop to the launch and other than greasing the wheel bearing was more or less ignored. It has surge brakes but they do not work and are unnecessary unless you tow regularly, the bunks need recovering, the wiring is iffy, and the whole trailer could use a general clean-up, but it is solid, the tires are good (but old), and it is very serviceable and able to get the boat to your home without problems.This boat is a Canadian Magnum, made in Canada by Magnum Marine which Magnum did for a few years back in the '80s.If you have any questions or would like to inspect the boat in person you can contact me through E-Bay e-mail or call my office at phone.Thank you for looking and reading this far!Ron Classic 1988 28' Magnum Marine Center Console!
