The boat received a complete upgrade and restoration in 2003. I will cover what has been done later in the posting. This boat is a 1982MagnumMarine Sport. The specifications are as followed:Length-40'0"
Fuel Capacity-400 gallons diesel fuel
Designer-MagnumBeam-12'3"
Water Capacity-75 gallons
Production 1982-1996Draft-3'4"
Hull Type-Deep VWeight-25,000lbs
Deadrise Aft-24 degrees When theMagnum40 Sport came out back in 1982 there were few boats like her on the American market. Long and sleek and built to very high production standards, the Sport was originally aimed more to the tastes of the sophisticated European buyer than to the domestic market. She quickly acquired an American following however, in spite of her upscale price. Indeed, the fact that she enjoyed such a long production run says much about her enduring popularity. TheMagnum40 represented a marriage of race boat style and luxury. A semi custom boat (only 60 were built) several single and twin stateroom floor plans rede available over the years with a broad selection of designer fabrics and furnishings. The same is true of the cockpit; The 40 could be configured as a cursing boat withlounge seating and a full width sun pad, or as a fisherman with a deep uncluttered cockpit. Thismagnumoriginally came with gas inboards.Restoration:Done and Completed in 2003. All the custom work was done in Closter, New Jersey at a Hot Rod Shopped owned and operated by Randy Bianci (search him name to find his work) The restoration was roughly $200,000 (two hundred thousand). The exterior of the boat was completely sanded down, fiberglass work that needed to be fixed was fixed. The boat was repainted a beautiful blue, with a red strip going around the boat and white bottom paint. The windshield was replaced along with all new aluminum trim. The wing also known as the "Arch" was removed to give the boat a more sleek look. All the metal on the exterior of the boat was polished. The boat received an entire new set of gauges for both engines, and diesel generator. A new radio was installed along with speakers both interior and exterior. New Air Conditioning units, hot water tank and water tanks were installed.Engine:The boat originally came with dual 502 big block engines. Those engines were removed and replaced with catapillar diesel turbo 3126 engines. The engines produce 425-hp mated to Arneson outdrives. When the engines were installed the builder moved the engines slightly forward to allow the boat to level quicker. The builder fabricated custom motor mounts and custom braces to support both engines. The builder also had custom high performance driveshafts installed and make custom X braces to better support the engine. Also installed and fabricated were safety drive loops. A custom marine exhaust was made by Stainless Marine in Florida. The boat was completely rewired and all new hoses were installed. Please see pictures of how meticulously all the wires were strapped down in wire ties to make the engine bay looks clean. All wires are marine grade and again are zip tied together and secured in tie downs. Everything was done with no money spared to make this boat a true one of a kind boat.Transmission:Caterpillar Twin Disc TransmissionMaintenance:This boat was always maintained and I have a folder of all work performed on the engines, drives, transmissions etc. All the work on the engine was done by Caterpillar mechanics and EVERYTHING is up to date as far as regular maintenance. Roughly 200 hours ago, was a $7,000 service done at 1000 hours. Both engine belt guards were remove, belts were checked and adjusted to proper specifications. Replaced both sea water impeller pumps. Replaced Zinc rods and plugs in both engines. Injector synchronization adjustments and vale lash adjustments along with injector timing. All fuel filters, oil filters were changed along with an oil change. The next major service is to be done at 2000 hours. As long as the oil is changed regularly, engines are running cool, these engines will last a very long time. I also perform maintenance myself such as greasing all greaseable components, and checking oil regularly. The boat has eight (8) new batteries and are all fully charged year round.Interior:The entire of the boat received new upholstry with blue to match the exterior of the boat. The boat has a "bow stateroom" which is an open space when you enter (please see pictures.) The interior of the boat has a full bathroom with sink, toilet and shower. The boat has a kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, and sink. There are TV's on the boat and two Air Conditioning units on the boat. One for the front bedroom and one for the stateroom. Interior of the boat is in good shape and very comfortable.Air Conditioning/Generator/Water TankDuring the restoration the Air Condition unit was replaced with dual Cruisair Units. I do not have the BTU's on hand but if they are needed I can get the number. Both units blow cold and have never needed to be recharged. They work perfectly.Generator- The generator is a Lugger Generator made by Northern Lights and works perfectly as well. The generator starts right up when needed and runs smoothly. The generator was also always maintained.Water Tank/ UnitThe Water Tank and Hot Water tank were both replaced but I do not have the name on hand. The water heats right up and works perfectly. New water lines were ran throughout the entire boat when the restoration was done.Boat for sale locally - Right to end auction at any time - Boat being sold as is - No warranty.
