Here is a nice and extremely rare 1968 Lyman 26ft Sleeper Hard-Top. This is a true "old School" classic mahogany wood boat built by one of the best wooden boat builders in the country. This boat was owned by an 73 year old man who's health forces him to retire from boating. He always maintained and cared for it. It has been shown in many wooden boat shows in the area.
The boat has a large forward cabin with a V-Berth and nice upholstery. It apparently had a marine head at one time but the bowl is gone (plumbing is there).
The outside deck and hardtop interior are all solid mahogany and in very good condition. The floors are teak and in good condition needing only a power wash and some teak oil. The cushions have all been redone and are in excellent condition and there are plenty of storage lockers.
The upper decks fore and aft are all teak, again just needing a wash and oil.
Boat is equipped with a 5.2 Liter (318 cu. in.) 235 HP V8 Chrysler engine with a 4 Barrel Carb. The motor was recently replaced and it runs very well.
According to the previous owner it was in the water last season, but not used very much.
From what we can see it's going to need is some cosmetic work on some of the wood and the gas tank needs to be cleaned and flushed. Runs great on fresh gas, but gas in tank needs flushing. Ironically the mahogany is usually the hardest part to redo, but on this boat it's perfect. It shines well and appears to have been recently redone. The hull and bottom could use a fresh coat of paint. The teak decks are fine just needing cleaning and oil.
I have described everything as I see it. I've pictured everything I can see. This is a genuine piece of boating history that needs a good home. It won't take much to restore it.
You are urged to come and view it yourelf or have it professionally inspected. I will make every effort to accommodate your schedule. But remember the time to do it is BEFORE you bid, not after the auction ends.

Questions
Hello, I just came across your post for the Lyman Sleeper with Hardtop. Per the post it said it was also on Ebay. I could not find it listed there. Is this boat still available?
Thank you,
Mike

I am VERY interested in your Lyman hardtop. My grandfather had one very similar in about 1970 on Lake Erie. Catawba Island, Ohio "Gem's Marina"
Hello seen the Lyman on your site, does it include the trailer?
Thank you
Gregg
Today is 8/29/21. Is this being sold on auction, how and where? Perhaps it is no longer for sale?
Still for sale? What is the sale price requested? Any leaking or rot below the waterline? Any wood repairs or refastening already below the waterline? My youth in a 1956 Lyman 18', so I am quite serious and simple on the subject. Thank you for your attention to this inquiry.
I am located in Bay Head.
Your add didn't indicate how to bid on boat.
Please advise.
I am very interested in the boat and hope it is still available
