Up for your consideration is a 1955 Lyman 15-1/2 ft center steer runabout with a period correct Johnson 30 Hp "SeaHorse" outboard.
Lyman boats are renown for their "Sea Worthiness" - they were designed to handle the rough waters of Lake Erie. This boat will take a four people in style on the lake or river. The boat shows very nicely and attracts a lot of attention.
The boat just completed a year long refinishing that included a complete stripping of the hull - inside and out - down to bare wood. The hull was then checked for rot, the transom knees were replaced and the under water surfaces sealed with Total Boat penetrating epoxy. The interior was finished with 3 coats of Lyman OEM Bilge paint in "Sand Beige". The exterior was treated with 3 coats of two part epoxy filler/primer followed by 3 coats of Total Boat "Wet Edge" one part epoxy paint in Bertram White. A Flag Blue sheer stripe finishes off the hull.
The rubs rails were removed stripped, refinished and refastened with ss hardware.
The old cable and pulley steering system was replaced with new Telflex NFB steering. Navigation lights and wiring were replaced.
Fresh lower unit gear oil and a tune-up was all that the Johnson outboard needed. Comes with a spare propeller.
The boat sits on a period correct Holsclaw single axle trailer, which has new tongue, fenders, lights and wiring. Tires are in good shape and the hubs have "Bearing Buddies". Included is acustom boat cover, which is tear and wear free.
