?LAUNCHER?
A unique, one of a kind Lyman Boat Works launch designed and produced at Quisisana Design Studio.
Picture #1 is how it began....the balance are what it is today!
I found her sitting in the front yard of a small farm in North-Central Indiana. I pulled up and chatted briefly with the owner who had taken the boat as trade for services. She told me the boat had been sitting in their barn since 1995 and they were ?cleaning out? and wanted to sell. I poked in the usual places where these boats rot and everything was solid as a rock; I could hardly believe it!
I bought her on the spot and came back the next day to bring her home. She was complete in every sense but in today?s world, even restored she would have little appeal. I decided to transform her into a small but elegant launch. 340 hours later, she became ?LAUNCHER"
Interior
All hardware removed
Every piece of the interior was removed and taken down to ribs.
Inside was either blasted with walnut shells/sanded.
Refastened as needed.
6 coats of paint applied.
Exterior
Hull was stripped of paint, board ?seams? were cleaned and re-caulked with ?super stretch?
o Super Stretch is a caulk that will never full hardened.
Hull was sanded, primed and finished with 6 coats of marine paint
o She has a VC 17 bottom paint below the waterline.
Finish Work:
All hardware was stripped down to brass and polished.
The original navigation light was aluminum, so I replaced with a brass unit.
I added 2 brass cleats at the stern.
Boat was rewired and is currently fitted with a modern ?4 position? panel in the event the new owner wants to add a radio, bilge pump, etc.?
New 450 CC Amp motorcycle battery
All decking/interior sides are fitted with Sapele (African Hardwood).
10 coats of Old Master Marine Varnish.
Rub rails/Bow/Stern refitted with new brass.
Custom seating (with cushions) and floor
Trailer was sandblasted, primed and painted. New fenders, wiring, etc... Bearings cleaned and re-packed.
Motor:
This is a 1993 Johnson 25 HP with Electric Start.
Sandblasted, primed and painted.
The motor is a "giveaway" with the boat. She fires up first push of the button and operates very well. I think the boat would perform better with a slightly bigger motor.
LAUNCHER would make a great little boat for evening cocktail cruises or even a small "committee boat" for a yacht club. If you have any questions or need additional information, please let me know.
Boat/trailer is sold "as is, where is" with no warranties expressed or implied. I reserve the right to end the auction early as boat is for sale locally.
Buyer is responsible for pick-up or shipping.
Thanks! Tim phone
