This 15 foot Lonestar runabout finished a complete restoration in February of this year. The hull was gel-coated, not painted. A small section of the flooring under the drivers chair was repaired with marine grade plywood and the entire floor deck was re-glassed. There are no creaks walking this deck. The carpeting is new as are the seats. The old style "cable" steering system was replaced with a TeleFlex system for safety and appearance. The steering wheel is original but re-painted.
The emblems are from Evinrudes Golden Jubilee(50 year anniversary) and are only found on 1959 Evinrude equipped boats. All faded or cracked emblems were replaced with either new old stock or the best I could locate. The motor is a 35HP Evinrude Lark which is also original to the boat. The motor works great, was completely re-painted in original color. Any issue found to be defective was repaired. The motor never needed to be re-built so most of the work involved such as replacing the impeller, was preventive maintenance as well as cleaning and adjusting the carburetor. The compression was checked, everything is fine and the motor seems to have been used little.
The original windshield was cracked and the current is a replacement made from a mold taken from that original. You will note that there is a small "U" shaped molding in the center of the windshield. This is a very early model of the windshield and was meant to correspond with the original "step-thru" feature to the bow. This windshield design was later eliminated. Most likely because designing an easy way to allow passengers onto the bow of a moving boat was determined to be a bad idea. Please do not use this feature should you purchase the boat for obvious safety reasons.
The battery is new and all electronics work. There is a custom MP3 Player with Speaker box that which goes with the boat. It is waterproof and was designed for use as a portable unit so that no cuts needed to be made into the dashboard. There are many other upgrades which were done that are not even listed. The original Lone Star Chrome badges were removed and re-plated with Chrome. This is real chrome, and not chrome colored paint. They are not installed on the boat because they are nearly irreplaceable and will be issued to the new owner.
The trailer is not original to the boat. All rollers were replaced, the banks re-carpeted and a new wench was installed.
I have plenty of pictures documenting the restoration process and can provide the contact information of the mechanic who performed the work. I know of no other boat of this type which was ever restored to this degree. There were many steps taken in this restoration. I am sure that I forgot a few of the upgrades and features.
This is a NO RESERVE auction. The first bid could win. Please be serious.
