I have a 2001 Key West 1720 Sportsman boat for sale. The boat measures
17ft long and has a 1999 75hp Mercury 2 stroke outboard motor. I've had the boat since 2009 and have used it in both salt and fresh
water. When I initially bought the boat, the mechanic inspected it and
said that the motor had less than 30hrs on it(2009). Since that time
I've used it a bit but it has spent much of it's time sitting so the
hours are still low on it. I'm unsure of the exact amount of hours
because I never kept track but I'd estimate that the hours are less than
70. The motor has not been rebuilt. It runs well and was serviced in
March of 2016. It runs well and will push the boat along at 32 mph depending
on the amount of gas, people, and gear in the boat. Here are some features of the boat: Troll motor harness and plug
Compass.
Electric horn.
Large storage compartment in bow.
12 volt power outlet on dash.
Stainless Steel Hardware.
2 console mounted rod racks.
Molded non-skid inner liner.

Recessed horizontal gunwale rod racks.
Generous bow casting deck.
Low profile stainless steel bow rail.
Tinted windshield with SS grab rail
Storage under console
Polished SS steering wheel with anti feedback mechanical steering.

No Wood-No Rot Construction
Self-Bailing Cockpit
Foam Injected Fiberglass Stringer System
Built-In Fuel Tank
Bilge Pump with Automatic SwitchI'm selling the boat in order to get a bigger boat. The things that I
love, and you will love, about this boat is that 1. It's rock solid
stable. You can stand up on the gunnels and the boat doesn't move.
This will be a huge benefit over your jon boat if you have one. 2. The
15 degree V hull on this boat cuts through waves like butter. Rough
water is no problem for this boat as it is super stable in rough water
and provides a smooth ride. 3. It's virtually unsinkable. I left the
drain plug out one time while I was out on the lake and over the course
of the next 3-4hrs, I realized that I couldn't get the boat on plane.
Me and the family kept on fishing and it was only after I took the boat
out of the water did I realize that I had about 55 gallons of water in
the bottom of the boat! So it will take quite a bit of water and weight
to sink this thing. Key West actually market these boats as
unsinkable. The boat is in good mechanical and cosmetic condition but
needs a fuse or a new bilge pump and a new plug for the bow mounted
trolling motor. It comes with 4 additional gunnel mounted rod holders. The only thing that I dislike about the boat is that it can get crowded with more than 3 people on board. I've posted more pictures and more details. I've cleaned the boat up a
little to make it look better but it will really sign after a thorough
cleaning and wax job. I've price the boat to sell so don't hesitate if
you think that you want it. Boats like these are selling for $20,000
new and much as $7,500 used. It's a great boat with low hours on the
motor and will give you years of service. I'm selling it on a
first with the money first sold basis. It has a clean title, current boat registration, and trailer registration for GA.
I can deliver the boat to GA, FL, AL, SC, NC, MS or TN for an an additional fee.
Questions
Seats appear to have significant mold? Hull also appears dingy, dull, stained, is that due to oxidation? Is your motor new enough to place on the Mercury Computer Analyzer to check number of hours, ran of RPMs run by number of hours, problem codes, etc? Generally, for a Key West 1720, a 75 hp motor is considered underpowered, most of powered by 90 or 115 Yamahas. What would you be willing to accept as a cash offer?
Do you still have the boat?
