NO RESERVE AUCTIONPurchased from the original owner in who's lakefront boathouse the engine was stored, unused, for the past 52 years. It has never been even close to salt water. I was told that the engine has about 3 hour running time on it which, judging from it's condition is completely believable. The pictures really do tell the story; the engine is, for all purposes, brand new. It was used by the owners son onlyduring the Summer of 1963 and from then on it remained, covered by a woolen blanket on a stand in the owners heated boathouse. After I purchased the motor a nearby Johnson-Evinrude-OMC certified mechanic checked it out thoroughly and then test ran it in his test tank; this was during this past July. It was pronounced "perfect" and has since been winterized and is now stored in my barn.Theonly flaws (cosmetic) we could find were a nickel size paint"rub" on the tank section of the cowling and some minor nicks in the paint; all of which could be very easily repaired with some 320 sandpaper and a can of the correct "Johnson White" spray paint. The prop is original and looks brand new as do all of the original decals. I cannot imagine there is a cleaner small Johnson motor in existence. It would be perfect as an auxiliary engine for a restored classic small sailboat or guide-boat.Regarding shipping, I have no idea what it would cost to ship the motor. It weighs about 35 pounds and would require a carton measuring approximately 36" x 18" x 22". After full payment I'd be willing to hold the engine for buyer pick-up until no later than December 29th or could possibly deliver it to it's new owner within a 50 mile radius of Greenville, NY ( at our mutual agreed time and date). The motor is located in Greenville, New York approximately 35 miles Southwest of the Capital, Albany.I'll try to answer any questions that I can by prospective buyers. It really is a little treasure; a timepiece from the days before the rush to fiberglass boats that were designed to looked less like a boat than a Chevrolet. It is definitely deserving of the continued care of an appreciative owner. You will likely never find another quite like it.
