Boat DescriptionThank you for looking at my 1978 Hustler jet boatI need to sell due to other comments. This is a very nice jet boat! This is one of a kind 18' Hustler. The interior was custom made and is in good shape. The motor only has 10 hrs on it since a complete rebuild. Big block Chevy 0.40 over pistons, hyd cam with crane rockers, 7/16 screw in studs, new aluminum intake, new 780 Holley chrome carb, it runs and sounds great. The motor compartment is very clean. The boat has around 500 hrs on it! The deck is in great shape and has flames on it! very cool. The gel coat has very few scratches but still looks nice. It is Red, and Orange with Yellow strips, with flames! Trailer is an Ellis, one of the best, tires are just ok . This boat draws a crowd everywhere. Its loud, fast and looks awesome. If you need more pics please let me know I will take some more for you.It has been in storage and needs to be used. The boat is in Burbank, CA

Questions
who rebuilt the engine? , Any work to the jet?
My father in law owned and built these boats. He passed away May 2017 if you still have the boat please email me.
Thank you.
So Sorry,
I just found this message.
So your father in law was John ?
yes still have boat.
What happen to John?
Sorry! It's been so long I forgot. Johnny's daughter Lee was looking for her dad's boats and came across yours and our messages. Unfortunately John passed away May 2nd 2017. He would always talk about his boat business with a twinkle in his eye. From the looks of your boat you have honored him. My wife Lee helped him at his boat business. A tear came to her eye when she seen your boat. She was 13 when he built boats. Hope all this finds you well. John moved back to Indiana where he's from and retired after 70 years of hard work.
Kevin,
I bought an 18’ hustler with a 460 and a drake pump about a year ago. I’ve been scavenging for more information about them with no luck.
Just looking to get a little more info on the history of these… would love to exchange some pictures with you so I can try and restore mine back to as close to original as possible.
