We are selling our 1996 Hurricane 226 Fish and Fun. We have owned the boat for the past 10 years and we have used in freshwater only. The boat has treated our family well and we in turn have maintained the boat throughout the 10 years we have owned the boat, including several significant upgrades. Those familiar with the Hurricane Deck Boats know that that Hurricane Boats are extremely well built and provide the seating capacity of a pontoon boat (13 people) but with the fiberglass hull and large outboard, the boat also functions as a great boat for tubing/skiing and fishing.
The boat is ready for water with fresh bottom paint and this season the lower unit was replaced at a cost of $1,800.00 plus by the local Johnson/Evinrude dealer. The Hurricane is powered by a 1998 Johnson 175hp outboard that runs great and was water tested by the Johnson/Evinrude dealer prior to listing for sale. All of the fixed seats were reupholstered summer 2014 in a color scheme more representative of boat seats today not the tacky/dated original seat colors. This model has the fishing package with live well and 2 fishing seats on the bow and another 2 fishing seats in the stern that are not shown in pics currently but the seats just screw into the 2 mounts front and rear and are in storage currently. We also purchased the Cabana Enclosure side walls that are a very costly upgrade which attach to the Cabana Bimini top to create a complete helm enclosure. The new Cabana Enclosure sides have never been used and will be included with the purchase but the new owner would have to purchase the bimini section or add zippers/snaps to an existing bimini top. We also have canvas covers for all of the seats and console. The boat comes with a tandem trailer and I am in the process of replacing the trailer bunk carpeting and fenders.
Serious buyers can take a look at it in person and water test before the auction ends. Boat is being sold as is, where is. Hurricane Deck Boats are highly sought after and this boat is available at a small fraction of the cost of a new Hurricane 226 Fun Deck.
