FOR SALE IS MY 1972 HATTERAS 58 TRI CABIN FLAT TOP MOTOR YACHT .TO BEGIN , THIS BOAT HAS HAD A LOT OF WORK DONE TO IT AND STILL HAS FURTHER TO GO , UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO A RECENT IMPENDINGDIVORCE THAT WOULD BE MINE I HAVE TO PUT IT ON THE MARKET AND SELL HER TO APPEASE MY SOON TO BE EX WIFE .IT IS ONE OF THOSE SITUATIONS WHERE I WILL NEVERHERE THE END OF IT UNLESS I SELL IT , I THINK IT IS A CONSTANT REMINDER FOR HER OF BETTER TIMES AND UNTIL IT IS GONE THERE WILL NOT BE PEACE IN THE LAND SO TO SPEAK .WHAT I CAN TELL YOU IS AS FOLLOWS . WE HAD PLANNED TO LIVE ON THE BOAT WITH MY TWO DAUGHTERS AND SON , THE THREE CABIN LAYOUT WAS IDEAL FOR OUR NEEDS AS THERE ARE 3 HEADS/ BATHROOMS .LISTED BELOW ARE SOME OF THE CHANGES WE HAVE MADE AND FURTHER CHANGES THAT NEED TO BE MADE , WELL IS SAY NEED TO BE MADE LOOSELY AS FRANKLY YOU DONT NEED TO DO ANYTHING EITHER THAT IS UP TO YOU .FIRSTLY WE CHANGED THE LAYOUT OF THE ENTRY WAY AND HAD THE TWO SIDE DOORS INSTALLED AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURES , THEY NEED TO BE FINISHED BY COSMETIC TRIMMING OUT THE FRAMEWORK , AS YOU ENTER WE MADE A LARGE AND SPACIOUS LIVING ROOM IN THE BACK , OPENED UP THE ORIGINAL HELM STATION AREA , INSTALLED A BEAM FOR STRUCTURAL SUPPORT , PUT A FLOOR DOWN AND INSTALLED A SLIDING DOOR SO THERE IS AN AFT OPEN AREA TO SIT OUTSIDE AND ENJOY A MORNING COFFEE OR SOMETHING OF THAT NATURE .WE OPENED UP THE ENTRANCE GOING DOWN INTO WHAT USED TO BE THE SALON AREA , AND THIS IS THE NEW PROPOSED KITCHEN / GALLEY AREA , THE INTENT IS TO PUT IN FLOATING CABINETS AND COUNTERS THUS ALLOWING ACCESS TO THE ENGINES BELOW .AS YOU MOVE FORWARD WHERE THE NEW BULKHEAD / WALL HAS BEEN INSTALLED I HAD A HUGE MASTER CABIN BUILT , AS YOU ENTER THERE IS A KING SIZE BED TOSTARBOARD , YOU GO DOWN 4 STAIRS AND BELOW / UNDER THE KING BED IS ALL OPEN STORAGE . ONTHE PORT SIDE IS A LARGE BUILT IN CUPBOARD WITH 2 SWING DOORS AS PICTURED AND FORWARD ANOTHER LARGE BUILT IN CLOSET WITH MORE SHELVING . FORWARD OF THATIS THE HEADAND VANITY AND TO STARBOARD A SEPERATE SHOWER AREA I THINK IT IS AROUND 4 BY 5FT SO LARGE AND SPACIOUS FOR A BOAT .THE WHOLE IDEA FOR US WAS TO BE AS COMFORTABLE AS POSSIBLE .THERE IS STILL FINISHING WORK TO DO AND I HAVE BEEN USING A MARINE CARPENTER WHICH YOU CAN USE AS WELL IF YOU WISH TO CONTINUE WITH HIM OR I HAVE ANOTHER MARINE TECH THAT IS CAPABLE OF FINISHING UP THE BOAT AS WELL .AS YOU GO FROM THE MAIN GALLEY KITCHEN AREA TO THE AFT YOU WILL SEE THIS IS THE AREA THAT NEEDS WORK , WE HAVE REMOVED MOST EVERYTHING TO OPEN IT ALL UP , THERE ARE TWO CABINS , ANOTHER LARGE MASTER IN THE REAR AND A REASONABLE SIZE CABIN TO PORT , EACH HAVING ITS OWN HEAD/BATHROOM WITH FULL SEPERATE ENCLOSED SHOWER , BOTH CABINS HAD QUEEN SIZE BEDS TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF THEIR SIZE .THE TWO REAR CABINS NEED TO BE FINISHED OFF WITH NEW PANELING THROUGHOUT , I HAVE A BUDGETED PRICE OF AROUND $12,000 INCLUDING THE GALLEY AREA TO HAVE ALL THIS DONE BUT FRANKLY IF YOU ARE HANDY YOU CAN DO A LOT OF THIS YOURSELF AND CAN PAY JUST TO HAVE THE ITEMS YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE DOING .I KNOW THIS BUDGET IS REALISTIC AS I KNOW WHAT IT COST ME TO GET EVERYTHING DONE SO FAR , OBVIOUSLY THE LEVEL OF FINISH WILL DICTATE THE FINAL PRICE .ANOTHER PLAN AND WHAT WILL MOST LIKELY BE A REALITY WILL BE ME FINISHING HER UP AND TURNING HER INTO A 3 BEDROOM AIRBNB RENTAL IN A LOCAL MARINA IF SHE DOES NOT SELL .BOTH ENGINES DO RUN , I HAVE HAD A DETROIT MECHANIC WHO WORKS ON THESE 12V71'S EVERYDAY WORKING ON THEM , THEY DO NEED BOTH ALTERNATORS REPLACED , WE HAVE RUN BOTH ENGINES THIS YEAR .YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALL THE SYSTEMS CAREFULLY WATER , ELECTRIC ETC , I HAD NOT GOT TO THAT POINT YET .THE GENERATOR WILL NEED REPLACED IF YOU INTEND TO GO CRUISING ALTHOUGH I HAD NO INTENTION TO DO THAT , SHE WAS MEANT TO BE A COMFORTABLE LIVE ABOARD WHICH HAS THE ABILITY TO MOVE FROM ONE MARINA TO ANOTHER NOT TO BE USED FOR OCEAN CROSSINGS .THE BOAT CAN REMAIN WHERE SHE IS , STORAGE IS PAID THROUGH MARCH 1 2017 AFTER THAT IT WILL BE $400 ON A MONTH TO MONTH BASIS .SHE IS A DOCUMENTED VESSEL AND WE WILL BE USING A DOCUMENTATION SERVICE TO TRANSFER OWNERSHIP TO ENSURE IT IS DONE PROPERLY FOR BOTH US AND THE BUYER .I MAY ENTERTAIN TRADES OR PARTIAL TRADES ALTHOUGH CASH IS KING AND ALWAYS PREFERED , I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN PROPERTYS MORE SO IN FLORIDA OR ON THE EAST COAST ( I MAY HAVE TO PASS ON AN OLD classifieds board HOUSE FROM DETROIT SORRY ), CLASSIC CARS , NOT YOUR CUTLASS CIERA ALTHOUGH TO YOU SHE MAY BE A CLASSIC TO ME IT IS RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION .
