1974 Hatteras 31 Sport Cruiser on trailer.

1974 Hatteras 31 Sport Cruiser. Twin Mercruiser model 350 454ci gasoline engines (closed cooling) with BW velvet drive transmissions. Fresh water boat kept on great lakes. Hull appears to be in excellent conditionwith no blisters or damage.

Steel Load Master 18,000 lb 3-axle trailer with electricbrakes, 2 5/16 ball, and newer tires (one trip from OH to VA 3 years ago). I have the title for both the boat andtrailer. I have the original ownersbinder with drawings (some badly faded), specs, etc. This is a project that is not getting done,so time to pass it along to someone who will finish it.

This is a great old boat thatI picked it after much research as asea-worth ocean boat that can be trailered relatively easily (just underinterstate height limit on the current trailer), and new engines arecheap. The boat is structurally soundand was largely unmolested. It lookslike it sat for a long time resulting in water damageto the interior. The prior owner purchased it, made minor repairs and took it on the water in 2016. I was told that the starboard engine failed(looks like a rotted oil cooler line burst and oil drained out) and I believethis engine is ruined.

I was planning to replace both engines so they are stripped forremoval but still in place. I have allthe re-usable parts. I started theinterior restoration. Damaged materialinside has been stripped and damaged wood replaced. I was planning to add an interior helmstation, so the bench seat area has been modified. All of this was purchased in the last 2 years. Over $10,000 invested in just parts andmaterials (not counting the boat and trailer).This is too good a boat to scrap.Needs someone who will get it back in the water.
