Hi , I am selling my 36' Grand Banks
project boat which is in Portland Connecticut USA, on hard standing at Yankee
Boat Yard. The hard standing fees are paid up untill June 2016, The
Grand Banks is an amazing trawler , has piped airconditioning , a
nearly new Lugger Northen Lights 5k generator with only 80 hrs worth
4-5k , Two 120hp Liehman diesels winterised in 2012, they turn over but
havent been started since , lovely helm, walk round teak decks and a
teak flybridge , all its original brass fittings , has all its original
cushions inside and out all in vgood condition , the decks are solid
teak and mahogany but need a bit of sanding and fresh paint , its the
model with the steadying sail which is complete with sail and has all
its bimini frames and covers too .It has a large aft cabin with
access to stern deck an electric flush toilet (head) and shower , the
bow cabin also has an elec flush toilet .The inside and its brass
hardware is in lovely original condition just needs cleaning , they dont
make boats like this anymore , the rails are all solid as is the swim
platform .The Hull needs 6 short planks replacing , one small piece
on either side and 4 by the shafts , i have removed all the bolts
holding the shafts in, ready to pull them , I had been quoted $3000 to
do the plank work, then the corking and painting would have to be done ,My
intentions were to complete this project , live on her and travel down
to nicer weather and enjoy retirement , i was intending to go over in
May of this year from the U.K to work on her but unfortunetly this is not going to
happen now .So my boat is up for sale .This is a excellent investment which will only go up in value as its restoration is continued .There is a picture of what my Banks used to look like and hopefully will again .My number here in the U.K is , phone , from USA its ,011 44 phone , or you can get info from Yankee Boat Yard ,
