Thisolder Grady was re-powered in the mid 2000's with a complete drop in Mercruiser engine/drive package by the previous owner. It is the 350 Magnum with Multi port fuel injection with Generation 2 Alpha sterdrive package which is as nice of an engine package as you can purchase. This engine runs perfectly but has recently developed a major oil leak. We did not diagnose the source of the leak but it appears that the oil pan has rotted out. We were also told that it could be an oil cooler line on the lower side of the block. If you look at the bottom the engine it looks quite rusty and you can see the oil puddle in the bilge as you run it for a few minutes. We test ran the boat yesterday and it starts instantly, runs, shifts and pumps water perfectly. The outdrive shifts smoothly and the trim/tilt operates as it should. It also has the newer style controls which operate very smoothly. The oil pressure, temp and voltage are all where they should be. The engine will need to be removed for inspection which should be an easy job as the access to the engine is very good. There is no water mixing with the oil in the crankcase or anything like that. Please view our live running video below to see for yourself how well it runs.Feel free to inspect in person if interested.
Wefound that the bilge pump, blower, VHF radio and gauges all work. The navigation lights and horn did not operate. There are dual batteries with selector switch installed. The batteries are charged welland don't look very old. I'm sure some things will need some tinkering as all boats do.
Cosmetically the boat looks good for its age but would benefit well from a buff and wax. The gel coat is in good shape other than fading with only age appropriate scratches and dings.I'm sure it would buff to ahigh gloss and look great if you spent the time. The bottom has a heavy build up of flaking bottom paint and should be stripped and re-coated. We had the waterline re-painted just to dress it up cosmetically. The cockpit decks aremostly solidother than a few small areas that you can feel starting to get soft. They are not getting bouncy and honestly most people probably wouldn't even notice what I pointed out as a few soft areas. Some areas of non-skid are worn down though. Please view all98 pictures and live running videobelow this ad to judge the condition yourself.
