Four Winns 278 Vista

*****PLEASE VIEW THE 145 LARGE PICTURES BELOW THIS AD******This listing is for a 1997 Four Winns 278 Vista aft cabin with twin fuel injected Volvo Penta 5.7 liter SX GLI I/Os. This boat has not been commissioned in about 5 years and the engines will need some work. They both however will turn over and start with a shot of starting fluid.We are selling this boat on brokerage and do not know much about it other than what we noticed on a brief inspection. The photos are current. The engines are throttle body fuel injected GM Volvo Penta V8 models and the outdrives are counter rotating Volvo SX models with stainless props. We were told by owner that it was winterized but will need some maintenance items and new exhaust risers. The risers are indeed rusted out and will need replacement (see pictures). We hooked up our shop battery and found that most things in the boat power up well. The drives trim up and down and the engines both turn over but will only start with start with gas poured directly into the throttle body. The starboard sounds good when it starts but the port has a siezed circulation pump and the belt squeaks. Engines have 740 hours on the still working hour meters and the oil is clean in engines. The batteries will need a charging or replacement as well. Cabin lights, refrigerator , and electronics all power up. Most accessories such as VHF, wipers, blower , bilge pumps and gauges power up just fine. We noticed the Stereo down below lights up but we couldnt get it to play. Most all cabin lights work well. There is a nice dual battery set up with selector switch and breaker panel. We did not plug in the AC (shore-power) side. There is an onboard battery charger, stove and hot water heater that all look good but were not tested for operation . We didn't check every little bulb and such so assume a few things don't work.Cosmetically it is in nice original shape. Gel coat in great shape and all original. Decks are all rock solid. Worst part is the dash panels are faded badly and delaminated. Luckily you can purchase exact replacement dash panels here on classifieds board for very reasonable cost. Cushions all feel soft and it has a good working mooring cover that looks newer. Bimini in good shape and there is full side curtain and camper back panels that look good. Cabin looks good and has some signs of moisture here and there but not bad at all. Carpet and carpet runners are dirty. There is a bit of mold in a few areas. Nice layout with a ton of room in aft cabin. Overall this boat will represent a great value for a handy buyer. We have no idea the extent of work needed for the engines to run well.
