This lifts the boat out of the water.These are brand new, solid hulls with great finish.Needs to be picked up!!For the boating experts out there, the 27 footer is a recent redesign of the extremely sought after Excalibur 27 Speedster of the early 80s. All new but based upon a highly sought after model.The original boat was made by Excalibur in the early eighties. They dominated the market. Wellcraft , Cigarette, and so on could not compete with the performance, so Wellcraft bought Excalibur the company. Unfortunately, as usual, some high up accountant at Wellcraft decided they could sell more boats if they made it larger to fit more people. Typical thinking of an executive that is not passionate about the product and only cares about the bottom line. Yes, you guessed it, it was like making a four seater Corvette. Obviously the boat flopped and that was the end of this extremely fast boat.The deck is completely redesigned. There is an aerodynamic rise going down the center of the deck. This rise adds geometry/strength to the deck and eliminates the flexing in the original design. This also adds more headroom down inside the cuddy cabin.The Plexiglas windshield has been completely designed out and replaced with a much stronger carbon fiber wind fairing. This adds more aerodynamic stability, more headroom for the cuddy cabin and greatly strengthens the overall boat while lightening it up. Most importantly this new shape makes this version highly aerodynamic and very sleek.
