1956 Wood Runabout w/30 hp Johnson motor Rebuilt and tuned up 2020. All difficult restoration on boat done in 2016.All rot removed and replaced appropriately. Transom, stringers, and seats built with correct honduras mahogany. Correct silicone bronze and copper fasteners and 3M adhesives where necessary. Electric/pull start Johnson with a good head, impellor replaced recently, and refurbish and tune up done by Outlaw Boats in Missouri. Trailer and motor are original to this boat.Back story: boat was owned by a community in Forest lake Illinois for most of it's life. The kids in the community shared the boat which was housed during the season in a boathouse on the lake. The parents shared maintanance responsibilty ie: traier/boat/motorWhen the children grew up and no longer used the boat, they decided to sell it.I received the boat in 2015, and put it in the water once. It ran well, but was taking on water faster than what you would expect for a wood boat. After surveying the boat, I decided to rebuild it with authentic materials and bring it back to it's glory. I performed all the work myself, after researching boat building and purchasing the wood and woodworking tools. We christened her "Rosie's Story" and have enjoyed many outings ironically on Forest Lake at Thousand Hills State Park in Kirksville MO. She rides wonderfully, and the motor starts up immediately and runs well. She has a working speedometer, cabin lights, and a vintage spotlight for night fishing. She has an automatic bilge pump, which does turn on once in a while as a wood boat does allow some water. The bench seat is hinged and provides space for tool box, and lighted flag pole. This boat turns head on the trailer to and from the lake, and is the prettiest boat to watch when on the lake. The controls are original, and work as they should. The motor has a dash mounted electric choke and horn button, and switches for lights, bilge pump, and cigarette lighter are mounted next to the fuse panel. This boat is not perfect. It could use a repaint, and a few more coats of clear. The glass is tempered, not plexi.I reserve the right to sell locally, at any time during this auction. The boat/trailer and motor have clear titles, and are being sold as is with no warranty expressed or impled.Like I said, the hard work has been done for you, and now normal maintanance is all that is required to keep this boat functioning for another 65 years, ( but it is a boat, and anything can happen) I will include several life jackets, rope, extra prop. This boat is easy to launch and retrieve with just a rope. It rides nicely on the trailer. I took her to Kimberling Mo from Kirksville with no problems.I love this boat, but we haven't had a chance to take her out of the storage facility for an outing in a long time. You will love her too!I have an extra vintage 30 hp Johnson motor I am willing to include if you agree to my buy it now price. This motor was sold to me as a working motor, but I have never tried running it. It looks good but I haven't taken it apart. I am sure it would l need a tune up and a new impeller. I have a bill of sale for that motor.56 Wood Runabout w/30 hp Johnson motor Rebuilt in 2016 new mahogany transom,.
