IF YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE DONZI MINX MODELS, THE PICTURES & VIDEO WILL PROBABLY BE ENOUGH, BUT IF YOU HAVE HEARD ABOUT DONZI BOATS & ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE MINX LINE (1986 - 1988 ), HOPEFULLY WE CAN INFORM YOU WHAT A WONDERFUL SPEEDBOAT THEY ARE. THEY ARE PRETTY RARE IN THAT THERE WERE LESS THAN 200 MADE, THEY ARE CONSIDERED IN THE CLASSIC LINEUP BUT ARE DIFFERENT IN THAT THEY HAVE A HIGHER FREEBOARD THAT GIVES IT A MUCH BETTER RIDE IN ROUGH WATER. EVEN SMOOTHER THAN THE CLASSIC 22 WHICH IS A COUPLE FEET LONGER. THE ENGINE BEING A SMALL BLOCK GM WITH APROX 270 HP PUSHES THE MINX TO AROUND 60 MPH WHICH IS USUALLY FAST ENOUGH & EVEN AT THAT SPEED CAN BE DRIVEN WITH TWO FINGERS BECAUSE OF THE POWER STEERING & THE WAY IT HANDLES THE WATER. WITH THE USE OF POWER TRIM IT IS ABLE TO SIT UP ON TOP OF THE WATER INSTEAD OF DRAGGING ALONG. WHILE USING THE TRIM TABS, YOU CAN ADJUST THE RIDE SIDE TO SIDE FOR ALMOST ANY SITTING ARRANGEMENTS OF THE 5 PERSON COCKPIT. ALSO USING THE TRIM TABS DOWN YOU CAN TAKE A NICE SUNSET CRUISE WITH YOUR BEST GIRL WITH THE BOAT RIDING ALONG LIKE THE OLE CLASSIC WOODEN BOATS. WITH THE OUTDRIVE TRIMMED IN THE DOWN POSITION, IT WILL ALMOST TURN ON A DIME & ALTHOUGH NOT ECESSIVELY LOUD, THE THRU HULL EXHAUST SOUNDS WONDERFUL TO MOST BOATING ENTHUSIAST. LEM EM KNOW YOU'RE COMING. WITH THE SMALL BLOCK ENGINE IT IS VERY ECONOMICAL TO OPERATE COMPARED TO OTHER SPEEDBOATS. ALTHOUGH THIS IS NOT MY MINX, ITBELONGS TO AFAMILY MEMBERS & SINCE I KNOW THIS BOAT & ALSO HAVE OWNED 6 OF THESE MINX' ALONG WITH A FEW OTHER CLASSIC DONZI MODELS, THEY ASKED ME TO DESCRIBE THE BOAT & MODEL IN GENERAL.
NOW AS FAR AS THE CONDITION OF THIS PARTICULAR MINX, IT IS IN WHAT I CONSIDER VERY GOOD CONDITION. NOT NEW, AS IT IS A 26 YEARS OLD CLASSIC, BUT VERY COMPLETE & WHAT WOULD BE CONSIDERED TURN KEY & READY TO RIDE THE WAVES. THE COLOR IS BONE/HONEY COLOR W/NAVY BLUE DECK STRIPE & HULL SIDES. MAINTENACE ITEMS ALONG WITH REPAIRS LIKE NEW SHIFTER CABLES & REPLACED BELL HOUSING KEEP THIS ONE RUNNING CORRECTLY. THERE IS A GOOD TRAILER THAT COMES ALONG WITH THIS MINX & IT JUST MADE A 300-400 MILE TRIP WITH NO PROBLEMS. THE INTERIOR IS IN GOOD & USEABLE SHAPE, & THERE IS SOME EXPECTED NORMAL WEAR & TEAR TO THE BOAT BUT MUCH LESS THAN WHAT IS NORMAL ON A 26 YEAR OLD MODEL. THE APPOLOGIES WOULD BE VERY MINIMAL & DO NOT AFFECT THE OPERATION OF THIS CLASSIC DONZI!

Good explanation of this model. This is not a 1988. I had one, which has a unique, custom Italian windshield which is higher and clear, with a stainless ridge. Now I'm looking for another one, but it took over a year to find that one, and I had it in south Florida for almost 4 years. Loved it.
