Donzi Classic

This is a 1972 Donzi Classic 18 2+3 powerboat. The original owner was William Clay Ford and was built at Donzi for him in the recognizable "Detroit Lions" colors. This boat carries some obvious history! This boat is in overall condition and a perfect candidate for a full restoration. While the original engine has been replaced with a standard small block Chevy Mercruiser, the Volvo Penta outdrive remains in tact. This boat has all original exterior colors, decals and hood scoops and interior equipment relating to gauges, grab bars and interior appointments including (admittedly hard to read) a dash plaque identifying the boat and owner. Last photo included shows boat tied up in "near new" condition. Upgrades include hydraulic steering, larger approximately 32 gallon aluminum fuel tank and filter system, and external through-hull water inlet and separate crank-driven water pump. Transom (outdrive was removed and checked)and stringers in great shape and have no visible damage. There are some scratches and a few deep scrapes in the hull/deck that can be easily repaired (is almost 50 years old). The main blue stripe has been touched up in a couple of places and at the front of the boat. The boat was purchased without an engine as a project with my son, but decided we wanted to move to a slightly larger boat. Trailer is a 1991 and is in descent shape.
