I have a 1989 Donzi Classic 18ft 2+3 high performance speedboat that needs a new engine. It is a Chevrolet 350 CID with an OMC Cobra Outdrive. It also has a 4 wheel factory Myco Trailer with brakes and 2 brand new tires and 1 spare. Here is the story, I purchased the boat in 1999 in California, brought it home to New Mexico, we live about 150 miles to the closest lake so we only used it maybe 3-4 times a summer. This boat runs close to 60 MPH at sea level ( Lake Havasu, AZ). It has power trim, 2 external power hydraulic trim tabs, speedometer, depth gauge. Hydraulic power assisted steering, Marine cassette deck. The last time I ran it, everything worked like a champ, that winter I didnt properly winterize the boat the following spring I was ready to head to the lake and when I started the boat, water was leaking from both sides of the engine block, that was it, Here in New Mexico there are only a few boat mechanics so I was holding off so I could take it to Florida where the boat was born and there are lots of OMC Donzi mechanics down there to find a more reasonable estimate to get if fixed. That never happened so the boat has been sitting for close to 5-6 Years, I found an exact replacement engine here athttp://www.michiganmotorz.com/marine-engine-1987-p-167.html For $2349 that I was going to order but I dont have the knowledge to do this kind of work, The boat since I owned it has never seen salt water so there is no corrosion at all which is a good thing for these type of boats I really wanted to try this install myself and keep my Donzi but its just not realistic anymore for me so I am ready to let it go. The interior is there but the back seats are very dry and brittle, the back seats need replacement directly from Donzi. The prop is in great shape with no dings, it is stainless steel and I have another prop in a different size that is also stainless steel. There is a small amount of old gasoline in the tank that needs to be removed before starting. The hull is in good shape, the back left upper deck corner has some surface spider cracks and needs some repair, I had planned to repaint the entire boat once I got it running, It also has the factory tinted windshield. A white interior cover. The outer entire boat cover needs to be replaced but is OK for storageI have a few extra parts .. an new white Donzi steering wheel, A new Bow and Stern light, and some OEM Donzi large decals for the back sides of the boat once it was to be repainted. Feel free to call me with any questions and I can also send you more pics if you would like Mike at phoneThis would be a great project for someone who has the time and money, these are great boats, This is like restoring a 1965 Corvette and there is nothing like the feeling of driving this boat on a rough choppy lake
