Custom Built

This boat is custom built. It is built as a replica of what was called a Poulsbo boat from a designer Ronald Young back in the mid 1940's. The design wasmodified to have a finished interior with a sole, deck, cockpit coamingand center console. It is cold molded of 3 diagonal layers of okuome marine grade (BS1088 certified)plywood with 10oz fiberglass sheathing inside and out using system three epoxy resins. The stringers and bulkheads are made from marine grade meranti plywood.It is a round chine displacement hull using a fresh water cooledBeta Marine 14hp diesel inboard to propel it a top speed of7 mph and cruise all day long at 6 mph consuming only about a quart of diesel fuel per hour. The fuel tank is a Moeller 12 gallon permanently installed.All 316 stainless steel hardware above the waterline and silicon bronze hardware below the waterline. The rudder is custom made of stainless steel. The propeller shaft is made from auqamet 19 (AQ19) and coupled through a flexible shaft coupling to a TMC40 marine transmission with a 2:1 gear ratio. It has a PSS shaft seal installedso noleaky packing nut to adjust or worry about. The propeller is an 11"x9"3 blade Michigan MP3.It only has 23 hours on the engine and boat. The engine is easily maintained. Oil changes are easy due to the factoryinstalledhand pumpwhichsucks the oil right from the bottom of the sump. The oil and fuel filters are easily accessible also.This boat won "first place owner built power boats" in the 2010 Woodenboat Show in Mystic Ct. Selling because of lack of use and to raise funds for another custom boat building project. The trailer which is hardly used is included with the sale of the boat. It isa single axle with 4 separatetilting bunks to cradle the boat.I'm including the anchor and line, dock lines and fenders.All's this boat needs is some new bottom paint and a very small amountof fuel to start enjoying a day on the water.I have added a lot of pictures to the listingthat will hopefully showthe excellent, clean condition and craftmanshipof this boat.
