1994 Crownline 196br. 280 hours on the boat and less than 100 hours on the motor. I have had the boat since 2009 during that time the boat has been stored in covered storage and only left in the water overnight a few times when we have rented a lake house. Fresh water only. In my opinion this is one of the nicest looking boats you will see on the water. Anytime I take it out compliments abound. The colors and lines are truly special. I had intended to keep it forever but I have finally given into the Admiral and ordered a new pontoon. As they say happy wife happy life.
The condition of the boat is outstanding considering the age, it needs absolutely nothing. There is a small section of floor just forward of the ski locker that fell apart. It seems to be a weak spot on crownlines of this era as every one I have looked at is the same. I made a patch for it and it is not an issue. The rest of the floor, stringers and transom are solid. I changed the captains chair with a really nice new chair with flip up bolster. I think I paid about $500 for it and it was worth every penny. I also have the original captains chair. I have changed the oil yearly, the out drive lube every other year. The shift controls and cable have 2 years on them. The impeller has 25 bours. The bellows is in good shape. I added smart tabs and skeg protecter that greatly improved handling and ride quality. The previous owner re-powered the boat with a 310hp Indmar 350cu V8 this was a complete package from Indmar that included holley 4 barrel carb, Ignition system and new mercruiser manifolds. The power to weight ratio this boat has will top most anything on the water on any given day getting on plane is effortless awesome for tubing or ski ing and reasonable on fuel. Included with the boat is a galvanized ez-loader trailer that is as nice as the boat. Custom bow filler cushion, Bimini that is built like a tank, Snap in sunbrella bow and cockpit cover. Also a walmart boat cover that I use to keep dust off when stored.
