1956 Vintage Crestliner Commander Aluminum 12' Double Cockpit RunaboutWith 12 HP Sea King Outboard MotorUp for Bid is a Very Rare, 12ft. Classic, Beautifully Restored, Double Cockpit 1956 Crestliner Commander Aluminum Runabout with a 12 hp Sea King Outboard Motor. This boat is often referred to as a Racing Runabout. You will never see another water craft, regardless of type or age, that has more startlingly gorgeous lines. With a Low Starting Bid and NO RESERVE: Some extremely lucky individual will take away THE DEAL OF THE DECADE! It is so rare and so sought after by collectors that I have been told by other members of the Antique Outboard Motor Club of America that they believe the actual value of this beauty would fall somewhere between $12,000 and $14,000! If for no other reason, the purchase of this boat would be a sound investment. In 2015 I bought this Classic Runabout near Lake Michigan and towed it to Maine with the same trailer that will come with this purchase. There were no signs that the boat had been used at all since its restoration. The previous owner stated that neither the boat nor the trailer have ever been used in salt water. I can attest to the fact that the boat does not leak. The only improvement I had intended to make was to install wooden slats over the non-skid coating in the bottom of the boat. Before the successful bidder sends the required deposit, I will start the engine and make sure that all controls are functioning. The Custom Boat Cover is in very good condition. It has a tiny 1" tear that can be easily repaired. At the time of purchase I had just turned 80 and I planned to use the boat on a freshwater lake in Maine. Shortly after arriving home with the boat I encountered unforseen health problems. I've never had a chance to use the boat. Now, I'll be moving out of state near salt water with no easy access to fresh water. The original description of this boat before I purchased it is as follows:"Classic Aluminum Double Cockpit 1956 Crestliner Commander, 12ft in length X 56" beam,Really good Barrentine trailer that will hold 14' boat. New tires and new lights on trailer.(Seller's Note: The trailer lights worked perfectly during the trip from Michigan to Maine. They have not been tested since. The trailer towed like a dream). The boat has not been used since it was completely refurbished. New upholstery. New Honduran mahogany woodwork, new transom. Motor was rebuilt and has been satisfactorily tested. Speedometer is not connected."Boat was soda blasted and the exterior was polished.Custom Plexiglas windshield. Hardware is polished aluminum."No shipping, Local Pickup only. I will be moving out of state almost immediately upon completion of this sale. I will be able to hold the boat for pickup for a maximum of 14 days. I have done my best to describe this item carefully and accurately. The photographs show exactly what you are getting. I am a private seller. If you have any questions or concerns, especially before you place a bid, please feel free to contact me. It is sold as-is regardless of any discrepancies that may be discovered after purchase. I have not intentionally omitted any negative details, if such exist.
