This 2003 Cobalt 282 comes into us as a high quality pre-owned well maintained trade. The previous owner was a man who new how to take care of a boat, & from her condition you can tell she was pampered & maintained properly for a Naples, Florida boat. The boat was traded in with an overheating issue & we have diagnosed it as a lower unit pick up tube on the starboard side Mercruiser 6.2 M.P.I. engine just over 650 hours (Twins). The service was recently done this year with all new exhaust, fluids, filters, impellers, & gear-lube, along with a fresh set of spark plugs. Overall we rate this 282 a SOLID 7 on the scale of 1-10 & could easily push to a 9 plus with some minor interior repair, logo replacement's & touch up's.... Call phone or phone for all recommendations & info. Because it's a Cobalt which some consider the Roles Royce of boats, and because of it's super high quality parts & hand stitched vinyl's you can understand why. You will notice huge differences from the thickness of the parts like the Yacht Certified Stainless Steel without a spec on it, & a mirror shined gelcoat still as thick as the day she was popped from the mold. Aside from a few gelcoat repairs & minor scratches this 282 is really standing tall for an early model bowrider. She also has a SERIOUS upgrade with upgraded FLY-BY-WIRE power steering, & shift control's (Very Rare Early Model Upgrade). That's an estimated upgrade value of 5,000.00!
The only think in my personal opinion that set's Cobalt in a class above Roles Royce, is this...... Roles Royce doesn't handle like a Ferrari! I'm not kidding & if you want the run down on why don't hesitate to call & ask Micky our Kyle. The nautical engineers at Cobalt along with that "Roles Royce" finish created a machine that has won the JD POWER & ASSOCIATES Highest in Customer Satisfaction for two strait decades in multiple classes and sometime with an ALL-STAR team of boats for certain years. Her only competition is a FORMULA.

OVERHEAT ISSUE
To make sure we pulled apart the water pump housing & the impeller looked brand new still. The pickup tube is a typical problem that occurs every 500 hours to 5 years some last longer. The pick up tube is located in-between the transom assembly, & outdrive. The outdrive has to come off to install the part & the total estimate of repair is 1,200.00 parts & labor. As you will see in the video we can idle with no problem & even get up on plane, but that's only for a short period of time. As the water pressure increases due to more power & speed there is a water restriction in the pick up tube.WE DO NOT HAVE TIME TO HELP FIX THIS, OTHERWISE WE WOULD DO IT OURSELVES. Unfortunately for us we are low on man power due to an extremely busy season. That being said we can help find a subcontractor to help you do it here local, or you can d o it yourself. If you are a Northern buyer that is not in a rush to ship it we can help with the repair & storage also.
