Quality and Performance

Comfortable Control

Up at the helm, the padded bolster seat and tilt wheel gives you the option of sitting or standing. The windshield does a nice job of redirecting the wind even when youre on your feet.

Room to Entertain

An L-shaped lounge amidships easily seats three adults and there is no shortage of drink holders. A fiberglass platform can be pulled up from the floor to create a dinette.

No Wasted Space

To starboard is a triangular storage/seating area that opens up to reveal an insulated, self-draining cooler. Cobalt offers an optional galley unit that can be featured here.

At the transom, there is a trash receptacle and small storage compartment. In addition, Cobalt has implemented a life jacket dryer; an area that maximizes the heat from the engine.

The 240 from Cobalt is clearly one of the higher quality boats in her class. With her performance and craftsmanship, Cobalt has made this 240 a model for mid-size bowridersThe LayoutAt the bow lies an anchor locker, rare for a bowrider. The waste pump-out is all the way forward and there are backing plates on the tow line. In the bow area, recessed grab rails line the exterior, protected by bolster padding all the way around. The seating is ample and there are carpeted storage compartments underneath. Four drink holders and speakers ensure an enjoyable ride up front. The bow area can also be completely enclosed with a folding door. Up at the helm, the padded bolster seat and tilt wheel gives you the option of sitting or standing. The windshield does a nice job of redirecting the wind even when youre on your feet. The gauges are nicely grouped together and our test model was equipped with the MerCruiser SmartCraft system. There is snap-in carpeting and a fiberglass platform can be pulled up from the floor to create a dinette. When you add the padded cushion, you have an impromptu sunpad. Cobalt also offers an optional extended swim platform, a feature on our test model, which gives extra room, a wet locker for your tow ropes, and a swim ladder.Specs and PerformanceThis high-end sportboat measures in at 23 feet, 9 inches with a trailerable 86 beam. She weighs a lean 4,240 pounds and has a conservative 50-gallon fuel capacity. The 240 delivered a top speed of 55.7 mph at 4750 rpm. Her best cruise was found at 3000 rpm, clocking a speed of 32.4 mph with a range of 190 miles. She hopped on plane after 3.9 seconds and it took her 6.5 seconds to reach 30 mph.
