This is a good project boat or could be used for the engine and outdrive with an easy way to move it around.
1978 Chrysler 17ft (I think) with a Volvo B20 engine with dual Stromberg carburetors. It has the marine started and alternator.
The b20 B Volvo engine starts quickly and runs very well with no noticeable smoke.
Please check out video link listed below.
The outdrive unit is aVolvo Penta 200C. It shifts into forward and reverse and the prop turns ok. The ram to raise and lower the outdrive worked when I bought the boat, but a relay or something has blown in the system. I am using a strap to hold up the outdrive.
I suppose the fuel pump is bad since someone has installed a small electric pump in the fuel line. I have not tested either pump.
There is a spring loaded outboard mount on the stern that works well. It states that it is good for up to a 15 hp outboard.
The boat has been sitting out for quite a while, so is quite faded and needs painting. There is a repaired spot in the side of the boat that can be seen in the pictures.
The fuel tank looks ok from the outside, but I have not used it or checked inside. I ran the engine with a small external fuel tank (not included).
The throttle cable was bad, but there is a new one included but not installed. I dont find a place on the engine end to attach the throttle cable.
The trailer looks pretty good, but the tires are not very good. They hold air but would probably need to be replaced for more than a short trip.
