1986 Chris Craft Scorpion 230. Cuddy Cabin with 25 foot Ace Trailer, Aluminum Ibeam construction with aluminum mag wheels. Dual axle, with hydraulic brakes. The same trailer just sold new on classifieds board for over 3500.00 two days ago...
I have owned this Chris Craft since 2000. It scoured the internet for parts and have replaced just about everything I could find. I ripped out the old original wood floor, and rebuilt the stringers and installed a composite floor and new carpet. I hadthe upholstery redone. Replaced the hatch in the cuddy cabin with new Bomar, replaced the compass, installed an extra battery with dual switch, installed an amp with a kick butt stereo. Took great care of this boat, but then my kids grew up. Those of you who know me know that my weekends on the lake were sacrificed to Riley doing shows (google Riley Biederer) and Parker on baseball fields. So it sat in covered storage. I have had same mechanic for 19 years. This boat will come with life preservers, anchor with chain, some training ski's, all the boat buoys you would need to dock, flares, fire extinguishers, lake maps north and south, a magma gas grill and grill tools. Had nice Bimini top custom made, but the mud wasps got the canvas last year. Have the frame and kept the canvas so that its easy to use as a template (might even be something a canvas guy can just repair) Pretty much turn key you and your family on the lake in a vintage restored Chris Craft boat. Not like the 23 foot boats they make these days. This is a heavy Deep V Hull that will cut the waves on Lake Lanier. Top speed I got it up to was 45MPH. Outdrive was rebuilt, maybe has 30-40 hours on it. Engine is Mercruiser 350 V8 with pretty much all the things that needed to be fixed to make it reliable over the years thanks to my trusted mechanic Russell, (its an 86 350 V8 so pretty darn simple...) The friend I bought it from blew the freeze plugs in the original engine so had to replace it, then rebuilt the outdrive and then got into financial trouble and sold the boat and an old steel trailer to me for 8K in 2000. So somebody is going to end up with a nice cool boat. Thinking 6500.00 for the boat and trailer and everything that I have that goes with it. Its a Lake Lanier one of a kind well maintained, structurally and mechanically sound classic boat. The photos don't do it justice, needs a wash and wax.
