Chris Craft Holiday

For sale a fine example of a 1962 Chris Craft 20' mahogany boat with the desirable 431 Thermocon V8. This is believed to be a Holiday based on Chris Craft production lists for 1962 and field measurements. It has been called a Runabout previously. The boat is in good mostly original condition with minor blemishes and has been kept in storage during winters and on a lake lift during summers. This boat draws attention wherever it goes and the sound of the Thermocon is a rare treat. All parts of the boat are functioning, upholstery is in good condition, the wood finishes are wonderful with normal patina. The boat moves well through the water, acceleration is brisk and the boat planes quickly. This boat has the ability to pull several water skiers up from a deep start if you like. Chris Craft introduced the 431 version of the 430 Mercury Edsel Lincoln (MEL) in 1962 as the "Angel with muscles". This is the 430 MEL with an enhanced cooling system and was named the "Thermocon". The 430 was the first production engine to reach 400 hp in cars. The Chris Craft marine version operates at slightly lower hp by design but packs the huge torque for which this big block is famous.
