Boat hull sanded to bare wood then 6 coats of marine varnish applied so far project to have 10 coats in total. Bottom is stripped to bare wood and environmentally compatible finish to be added. All plank seams are cleaned of old caulking. All wood under motors in engine room sanded to bare wood for finish paint.

I bought this boat to use in retirement have invested in refit so as not to do it but once. The motors twin GM 454 crusader motors were remanufactured with all new interior parts by GRC machine in Lakeside,Ca. After rebuild motors were broke-in then put on Dino machine and all specs printed out. All external parts purchased through crusader dealer new. Transmissions were remanufactured by Larry's transmission in Chula Vista put on dyno and broke-in specs from test at 700 lbs torque per transmission. I have all original furniture and extremely long list of xtras that go with boat.

I am wondering why you chose to varnish the topsides of this boat....traditionally this one would have been painted with marine paint on her topsides. She would also have had sikaflex seam compound in the seams on the foredeck at the forepeak.... Is there a theory you had with the varnish?
Please let me know, I am curious to your thought process here since the seams should be sealed...and I see no sealer. Also, on the bottom, which is double planked, was she refastened?
