Chris Craft Constellation

We have put a lot of work into the rejuvenation of the Mooring Wood. A partial list will follow but first the bad part. This November we pulled her out for a routine bottom job. When she went back in we popped out some caulking. Before we realized what was going on, she was filling up with water. Water was over the generator and half way up the motors. We damaged the rub rail trying to get her out of the water, also popped some more seams. Water did not get over the engines but was in the crankcase. Top ends were still dry. We filled the crankcases with diesel, we believe the engines are okay. But batteries are shot so we did not try to start. If someone wants to re caulk her she should be ready to go. Info only, we just took her on a 400-mile trip in September with no problems. Now for a list of upgrades.

New Bimini and enclosure, $3500 new in August, enclosure never used.

Both engines have been rebuilt, the port by PO and we did the starboard. (75 hours on it)

New exhaust on the starboard engine.

Both engines have new: Pertronix ignitions, Edelbrock Carburetors, starters, rebuilt alternators and electric fuel pumps.

Fore deck is teak and re varnished this summer (8 coats)

Bridge windows were removed and refinished and new runners on sliders.

Excellent Kenwood stereo with 3 sets of speakers and amplifier

New plumbing including an electric toilet in the head.

All gauges were refurbished and the tachs were converted to electronic to match the distributors by Kocian Instruments ($2000) in September.

As you can see we have put a lot of work into her. Wife says we are done, someone else needs to pick up the torch and continue her journey. We could pull off the various parts and make our money back but I would rather see her sailing down the river. Boat is on the hard at Three Forks Marina in Muskogee Okla. Can hit the Arkansas River and go anywhere in the world. There is a storage fee each month, paid up for now.
