Here is your chance of a lifetime to own one of the most iconic boats every produced, the 1955 Chris Craft Cobra. Many people will call me nuts but this is a NO RESERVE auction. If its ends at $100.00 or $100,000.00, I will honor the sale.Over the years I have bought and sold some really unusual cars and boats but I have never found my Cobra in the Barn. Until I stumbled across #23. I originally purchased this with the intention of keeping it for myself but with five other boats and plans on doing the Great Loop next year I figured someone else should enjoy her. From what research I have found she was originally shipped to Rich Marine Sales in Buffalo New York on March 9, 1955. From there she ended up being owned by a hair dresser in Park Ridge Illinois. In 1963 she was acquired by a boat collector and marina owner in Fox Lake. Used very little over the years the last time she saw the light of day was June 1995 at the Cobra Fortieth Anniversary Homecoming Regatta where she was authenticated by the Council of Cobra Boat Owners. The Certificate of Authenticity will accompany the boat.Overall she is in excellent original condition. Her hull and decking are original, solid and free from rot. Her topside will need a light sanding and revarnish but are in excellent condition. Her gold fin was painted white prior to 1963 and I do have the original Chris Craft badges for the fin. Her original #'s matching Hercules KBL Tri Carb engine is in excellent condition. With only 51 of these produced she is very rare and would make a great addition to anyone's collection. She is in my garage at home in Northbrook Illinois. Winning bidder will have 14 days to pick it up and I will assist loading it on your trailer. If you would like to view it while the auction is running I am free most days for showings. In addition to this Cobra I will be listing an extra KBL complete engine and a complete Tri Carb setup.

Hi my name is Griffin, I’m curious if this boat is still for sale. I live in rockford Illinois so I could come and check it out pretty easily. You can call or text me at *** or send an email. I have always wanted to own and drive a Chris craft so let me know!!
Hello, I just ran across your boat for sale… Oddly The name of the boat “comb out” caught my eye ( Hairdressing has been a huge part of our family) over 100 relatives in the business and 10,000 graduates from Josef’s school of hair design (JSOHD) Our email & Acronym for the school which was founded in 1960…If you Google JAFA which stands for Josefs annual fashion awards, i’m sure you’ll be surprised at the video presentations and the fashion shows from our small town of Fargo North Dakota !! LOL
If your boat is available we are most definitely interested in learning more how about your boat and its Fashion forward design & creativity. It certainly seems that it should belong in hairdressing family.... Mr. Josef is my father and will be 95 this year, it would only seem fitting to hand him the keys to the lost art of the comb out..
Maybe adding another name on the back like “cut classes” “Make faces““Tease the teacher“ or “blow the exam”
In our family we were taught to “run with scissors” and to “make waves” whenever possible... Sounds like we’re going to need a fleet of these Chris crafts… Google 1985 Bronson and you’ll see his tow car, all steel and powered by of 460 SVO... Enough with the jokes, let’s see if we can put something together.
Respectfully, Mario Olivieri

Still for sale/ Asking price. Thanks. Beautiful boat
Is boat gone
I would lime to have it
I'm a moron from the year 2020. I hear you have a boat for sale that my family would really appreciate. I hear it has holes in it like Roberto and Dan's heads. Hopefully, this isn't the last post you'll get and in 2021 I'd really like to take that junker off your hands. I have to ask, was the boat in an accident? That is a terrible repair job all in gold and fiberglass you attempted. I hope one of these respondents to your advert is the lucky new owner! Their shrewd attention to detail and reverence to history should have one of them naming her what their dear father's called them as children, "Halfwit Nincompoops!". And you wonder why some people hide their treasures in garages...
Best,
B. Craghill

I am searching for a cobra to restore to the utmost perfection. I have been an avid fan of wood Chris Crafts since a child and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to be the care taker of this beautiful masterpiece. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to converse with you regarding this boat. I am located north of Milwaukee and would consider it a great privilege to view. Thanks Joseph ***
