1958 55' Chris Craft Conqueror USCG Documented Boat ATTENTION ALL COLLECTORS!! RARE 1 OF A KIND CHRIS CRAFT YACHT!!
This Chris Craft Yacht is the very last of its kind. There were only 4 of the 55' Conquerors made in 1958 and ours is the only survivor! It is very rare to find a year in the history of Chris Crafts boat building that has only 1 boat left of a particular model, especially a 55' yacht.
We have lived on this boat for over a year. It has tons of storage and space, it is currently in the best covered slip at the Shalimar Yacht Basin in Shalimar, FL but it runs great and you could take her where ever her heart desires. (providing the water leads the way)
The boat is Philippine mahogany double planked construction with original teak decks. All hot/cold water pressure systems working, all (most) electrical working, Electra Scan waste removal system for the head recently installed, and she had a complete hull out bottom job in 2012 and bottom cleaned periodically every 4 to 6 months.
This yacht is a 3 stateroom,3 head layout. The salon is located in the center of the boat with bookshelves on either side, windows galore, cable T.V.,original chart table, and a newer updated air conditioner. Aft of the salon is the guest stateroom with 2 twin beds both mattresses included with sale of boat, a hanging locker/wardrobe,and plenty of drawers and storage cabinets. Across from guest stateroom is a head with a toilet and sink with Corian counter-top. Next aft we have the master stateroom. There is 1 full size bed frame (no mattress for full size) and 1 twin bed with really nice thick new mattress, 2 hanging lockers, drawers, and an aft hatch that opens to the completely enclosed cockpit. There is an attached head with a complete Corian shower, Corian floors and counter-tops. Forward from the salon we have the galley. She has a 2 burner glass stove top,a brand new 9 cu. ft. refrigerator, built in microwave, full 2 sided vinyl booth seating, small pantry, and alot of storage. She also has the original black and white checkered vinyl floor from 1958. Forward of galley is the crew quarters/V-berth with twin bunks, storage lockers, and an attached head with sink, and Corian counter-top.
This yacht is 95% completely original. The layout, every drawer, cupboard, and each and every handle & doorknob are original to this yacht. The only things changed on her are laminate floors in salon,Corian counters in all 3 heads and galley, plus a complete Corian shower--floors, walls, ceiling--her original mahogany is apparent throughout the yacht. Nothing has been painted over. That is a very rare thing.
I have many of the original documents for this boat including the original work order to build the boat with both matching engine numbers listed.I also have the blueprints, original 1958 advertisement, the specs from Chris Craft from 1958,and receipts for some of the work done over the years by previous owner.
We have kept this boat in her original state. She has not been cut up, or had cheap cabinets installed, or had her original integrity compromised. These vintage yachts are very hard to find in their original condition, much less with original paperwork.
Most importantly, this yacht was 1 of only 4 made in 1958.The 55' Chris Craft Conquerors were never built again.Chris Craft only produced 40' Conquerors starting in 1959.1958 was the last year of the 55' Conqueror and OUR BOAT IS THE VERY LAST ONE!!! A collectors dream...This is the one and only model that Chris Craft made with CURVED SIDE WINDOWS.
Now for the mechanical side:
She is powered by twin Detroit Diesels 6V-71 that run STRONG. Engines are original to this boat, with approximately 2300 hours on them. Check them out on my youtube video. They purr
https://youtu.be/BajfP3WvpSg running from the inside boat and https://youtu.be/cviiOFvawjw running from outside of boat.
Also a complete video of front of boat to the back can be seen on youtube
There is also a 4JBLE-01 20 KW Yanmar Generator that could power a small city. Generator has a new water strainer.
She has 12V and 110 electrical systems in place.Ship to Shore power switch has been recently updated to a modern Onan switch.
Engine batteries have been replaced with 8D 12V for more sufficient engine starting.
The Marine Air condition is orginal to the boat and it blows so cold, we don't use it. It will freeze you out of the boat it works so good. We just had it serviced last week to ensure it will keep working. The Toilet has recently been updated with a new Electra Scan system which makes living aboard so easy. No holding tanks to empty or smell. New water pump installed in shower as well as new bilge pumps and switches through out entire boat (FIVE)
The boat does run good however it does need some cosmetic repair and though we have done alot to it, she still leaks during a very hard rain and will continue to until the decks are finished. If you are interested in purchasing this boat, it can be seen prior to any bids by appointment only.
It is a great live aboard boat, we are just ready to move on to something different. My Husband works many hours and doesn't have time to invest in the boat. This boat is a real investment opportunity if you have the time and money to put in to her.
I have included all updated original photos, (except the first cover photo) if you choose to buy the boat based on the description and photos without coming to see it first hand - that is your option but please note all sales are final and payment is expected within 3 days of the closed auction. I have a video of a complete inside walk-thur the boat from front to back that shows all cosmetic work that needs to be done - youtube - https://youtu.be/BqPOjb6qiYM.
If you have questions, please ask. Not taking lowball offers so please insult me or waste your time.

How much more work does she need? Is the deck leak a caulking issue or must the deck come up?
