Here is a 14' Wood & Fiberglass boat that I believe is a Chris Craft Kit Boat, but the more I research it, the less sure I am. Here's what we have here:The motor is a Sea King model number GG8997C which makes this a 1959 35HP with Deluxe Electric Start. This was actually manufactured by Gale OutBoard Motors and branded as "Sea King" for sale by Montgomery Wards. Gale was a division of OMC so the motor is going to very similar to Evinrude and Johnson motors of that year. I was told to motor ran, but it looks like it was last in the water in 1987 (indoor under cover storage since then). The hoses are looking a little questionable, but otherwise it looks nice. It has compression but I have not tried to start it. It comes with an extra gas tank and prop. The boat has no name and I have seen no hull number (the previous registration paperwork includes no hull number). The old registration calls it out as a Chis Craft Kit Boat, but there is no year given. The boat is plywood construction with a fiberglass outer coating and nicely done. The wood needs repaint/revarnish but is in good shape. The fiberglass has those little gelcoat hairlines that old fiberglass gets but only on the horizontal surfaces (see photo). Rear seat cushion missing. Has small oars stowed under the bow. Actually a pretty nice little boat. The trailer is a tilt style and could use some new wiring. I don't see a manufactures name on it. The last trailer registration calls it 'assembled' but that's not right. It's obviously professionally manufactured. I pulled it about 100 miles home, so it should be good to go for pulling it short distances. This boat is for local pick up in Petersburg, MI. Come out and give it a look. It would be a nice boat to restore or just run with minimal work.
