This is a 1986 Chris Craft Commander 482. They were built to compete with the high endsport fishingboats of the time. They are still popular with that crowd. Built like a tank to fish in tough conditions. It is powered by Detroit Diesel 8v92s at 600 HP. Not the 735 hp grenades the others all had. They have about 3000 hours on them and run great. They should go twice that with normal maintenance and care. They have Allison 2 to 1 gears and 2&1/2 inch shafts turning 32 x 32 props. The drive train is much bigger than needed, butthat'show these boats were built, or overbuilt, everywhere. This boat was made to cruise with over 900 gallons of fuel and 500 gallons of fresh water. It has a 15 kw generator and a pair of 2000 watt inverter/chargers with 8 Golf cart batteries. A large master stateroom with private head/shower. Bunks to port and forward with head/shower between for guests. Brand new 9000 btu air conditioning unit in Master and new compressor unit in salon. Reconditioned 5000 btu air unit in forward berth. All have heat. I bought the boat to live on while I fished in Venice Louisiana. It has been a great boat for that, with anoccasionalovernight trip out to the gulf. It still needs a few things done, like the flooring. I pulled up the old carpet and started laying teak. Then I had to go fishing again. I resealed the front hatch butbeforeI finished the headliner I went fishing, so thatdidn'tget done, the port side bow rail is bent in 2 spots, any easy fix, etc. The boat is in decent useable condition and I would be happy to deliver it anywhere by water for expenses. I just did the bottom and had both props checked, new zincs, etc. The bottom is in good condition. I would love to just keep the boat and use it the same but life changesdon'tallow that. It will make someone a great boat, just like it has done for us. I would consider interesting trades, no wives or children, but diesel powered motor homes and truck/bus conversions would be considered. I will answer intelligent/serious questions, others will be ignored. I can show the boat to anyone I consider a potential buyer, not into tire kickers as it takes 14 hours of driving for me to get there. No, you cannot board/enter the boat without me there, to much liability involved and the marina wont allow it anyway.
