Chris Craft

This is a 1947 Chris Craft Rocket/Special Runabout with nearly all original parts included. The engine is the original Chrysler Ace Marine Flathead 6 cylinder. The engine does not turn at present. Many rebuilt, unused parts including starter, generator, fuel pump. There is a Zenith carburetor included. Transmission is in place and does turn. All exhaust, cooling system, piping is included. New, unused aluminum fuel tank is included. The engine number matches the hull number (see paperwork). Original steering wheel is included.The hull has been re-built and re-structured using West System epoxy and is intended to be painted outboard. Cockpit paneling has been barrier coated with epoxy and all pieces are included. Original cushions are included. Dashboard is intact. The engine compartment sides are missing but the cover with Chris Craft name plate and serial number is included.All gauges and fittings as pictured have been re-built and newly chromed. New parts such as the Chris Craft logo steps, mahogany light and flag poles, propeller shaft are included. Prop has been re-balanced and is as new. Rudder and associated parts have been refitted. Chrome rubrail and cutwater are as new.The mahogany decking is complete but water-damaged. Windshield brackets are as new, but glass is missing.Lots of paperwork, original sales order, plans from the Maritime Museum, decals and so on. Many more photos are available for the serious buyer.A well-made single axle trailer is included, radial tires have less than 1000 miles on them.This is a wonderful old boat that is close to the finish line. The completeness and originality of this special runabout make it a realistic project for a qualified restorer.
