1976 Chris Craft 30 (TSF) tournament fisherman, Ray Hunt design (the better Bertram 31) See articles in "thehulltruth", "commanderclub" and other websites.Twin 454 (big block) engines with velvetdrive transmissions, runs great. Recently serviced.Hull is in excellent condition and the gelcoat still shines. Topsides in very good condition with no soft spots or cracks but could use compounding and maybe a fresh coat of paint. The teak trim needs to be refinished and the teak swim platform is in great condition. This model has a full teak interior (no formica)with a full galley, head with shower, convertible dinette, forward bunks, rod holders and lots of storage. Wood around windows has some staining from previous water leaks. Cushions are in nice shape. A/C unit is new. Everything works as it should although the water heater will need to be replaced soon due to age.All electronics work except for the VHF radio on the bridge. Gauges are fairly new as well as house and engine batteries, bilge pumps, washdown pump, stereo, etc. Also has GPS, Loran, fish finder, hailer, depth gauges, remote/automatic extingusher system, fuel vapor sensors, synchonizer, windlass. ,etc.Projects that I haven't gotten to yet: steering rack has some freeplay but works well, outriggers need to be re-strung, cabin door needs repair, remote spotlight does not operate and the few items previously mentioned. The biggest problem is the fuel tanks, there are 2 tanks, 150 gallon fiberglass tank and 100 gallon steel tank. The fiberglass tank is no longer usable as the gelcoat inside has been ruined by the methonal in the new fuels. The best repair is a rubber bladder (liner) installed in the tank. There is currently approximately 5+ hours cruising time with the 100 gallon tank. Cruises at 2800 RPM (18-20 MPH) burning 18-20 GPH with over 40 LBS oil pressure and temps around 160 deg. There is absolutely no smoke on startup and no evidence of oil burning.I purchased the boat not that long ago as a good base to use and restore to its original glory as it is a special cruising and fishing machine (read articles on the internet). Unfortunately due to other obligations I have no time to use or work on this rare good old boat. I am a mechanic by trade and have serviced and repaired anything to make this a good and safe boat to use now.
Priced at $6900.00 OBO, it is priced well below what these boats sell for, anywhere from $15K to over $100K for restored models. Insuranced for value they set at $21K. Many more pictures are available. The boat has been relocated to Port Washington and is still in the water for now as we have been out on nice fall days. The boat is being sold locally as well and the offer of sale can be discontinued at any time.Thank you.
