2000 Chaparral Signature 270 with twin 4.3L Mercruisers and Bravo III twin prop outdrives. This boat is super clean inside and out and very well maintained and ready for the water.
Let me apologize first for the long-winded description but trying to be as thorough as possible.
Interior: All original upholstery and carpet in fantastic condition. No rips, tears, or stains anywhere, everything works as it should and no mildew or funny smells. This has always been a pet free, smoke free boat and it is obvious when you go inside. Norcold AC/DC refrigerator, a Samsung microwave, Samsung 22 1080 HD TV(mounted professionally with adjustable mount), and Samsung Blue-Ray player. MarinAir 9,000 BTU air conditioning, heat, and humidity control with remote control; works great will freeze you out very quickly. Everything shown is included except the ivy lighted decorations (my wife wants to keep those but can be had at Hobby Lobby). The range is original with the boat but has never been used (works great we just never used it). The microwave has only been used a handful of times, I removed the plastic from it when I bought the boat in 2010. The carpet is in great condition, no stains and looks great. Again, all curtains and bedcoverings are original and in great condition. Faucets are clean and work as they should. Bathroom is very clean and everything works as it should. The interior really is as clean and nice as it looks in the pics, and no gross boat smells, it could pass for a year or two old on both accounts. Note: On the picture of the aft cabin, I still had the battery out of the carbon monoxide detector (top right) from winter storage which is why the cover is off of that, the cover is white and looks great, just forgot to have it on for the picture (sensor works fine just didnt want battery corroding over the winter). I didnt get a picture of it but table fits down between bow cushions and includes a large cushion to complete the front bed unit, this cushion is also in perfect condition, no tears, stains, or visible damage at all (all cushions and bed removed during winter storage to keep them clean and like brand new). Despite it being 14 years old and having 480 hours on it, the interior of this boat has very little use. Im not sure original owner really used the interior at all, it still had plastic on microwave, range was never used, refrigerator appeared to have never been used and all carpet and upholstery looked like new. Due to my wife being intolerant to the motion of the lake, weve only stayed the night on this once in the 4 years Ive owned it, so youre actually getting an almost new factory interior.
Exterior: Very clean boat stem to stern. It has one small rip in a side pad toward the rear of the cockpit but it is only about an inch or two (see pics-far rear port side pad), could be easily repaired. Otherwise all cockpit seats are complete with no damage save for some slight fading on top of captains chair. All gauges work as they should and are lighted at night. New Lowrance high end VHF radio. Lowrance GPS/fishfinder is an older model and will need a transducer to work but head unit is new and comes with lowrance GPS antennae as well. The boat also has the factory installed Hummingbird depth sounder with red lighted gauge on the dash; it works great and has an adjustable alarm. Windlass works great both on the bow and with remote controls at the helm. Horn is intermittent, should be replaced but is just a simple slide in universal model. It has a JVC CD player/stereo with remote controls at the helm. Windshield wiper works (needs a new blade, rubber is about shot) and all lighting works. Includes all canvases as seen, the road cover has 3 seasons on it but is still in great shape as you can see, no tears or visible wear, the camper canvases have one season on them, they are like brand new, including plastic windows and screens. This boat also has a stern shower with hot/cold water which works great. There is one ding underneath the pulpit where it seems the anchor dinged it on its way up but it is only about an inch or less and purely cosmetic (see pic). There is a stainless steel rub strip that wraps around the boat and there was a section that was broken with a sharp lip on the swim platform so I removed that piece (see pics). I have this remaining section and it can be bought in bulk at a marine store but I had honestly forgotten it wasnt on there until I was taking pictures for this listing; its not easy to spot. The blue graphics on the sides are all factory installed and have a few messed up spots from bumpers rubbing but again small and minor cosmetics (see pics). Besides the small anchor ding under the pulpit there are no dings or damage anywhere on the hull front back or underneath.
Driveline: Twin 4.3L Mercruisers have 482 hours on them and are all original and run perfectly, no smoking or performance issues at all. The engines both always start right up and carry great oil pressure, do not overheat/etc. and are extremely clean as you can see. The boat hops right up on plane and can fly with 12 cylinders and almost 400 hp or you can run on single engine and use very little fuel just cruising around. The Bravo III outdrives were recently refinished (stripped down and repainted) and have no corrosion and work great. The out drives both have all new zincs and the propellers (all 4) are in great shape. Engines (oil/fuel filters) and outdrives all recently serviced so they are good to go for this season. The only issue with any of the operating hardware is the starboard trim up switch is intermittent, however trim up works fine with the trailer switch so its definitely just the switch going out. There is no issue with the trim up or down operating hardware since it all works you would just need a new switch on starboard up side if youd rather have control on handle versus using the trailer switch just below. This never bothered me so I didnt bother trying to fix this. 2 newer Die Hard deep cycle batteries, about 2 seasons on these and boat has factory battery charger/tender.
Trailer: 2000 Load Rite aluminum trailer with 6 lug galvanized wheels and load brakes. Trailer has new runners installed 2 years ago (treated and sealed 2 X 6s with carpet). Trailer tires are heavy duty trailer type with great tread but are starting to show some minor cracking on side walls, may need replaced in the next year or two but still reliable for now. Trailer works great, all lighting, brakes, and bearings work and have been kept up with maintenance, it is the perfect size and weight trailer for this boat.
Specs: Engines=2 X 190HP 4.3L, Outdrives=2 X Bravo III, Hot Water Heater = 6 gallons, Fresh Water = 25 gallons, Waste Water = 25 gallons, Fuel capacity = 105 gallons, 2 bilge pumps one in engine room and one mid mounted (under steps by shower sump).
For the buyer of this boat, the nearest lake is 1 hours from my house so a test drive is not practical but I have the water muffs for the engines, a water tank for the AC/Heat, and a power cord for the electrics so everything on the boat can be tested in my driveway prior to transfer.
This has been a great boat; it has never broken down, handles great, and is fantastic to spend a weekend on. Its easy to pull with ton truck and sleeps 4 adults comfortably. It is ready to put in the water and enjoy the 2014 season as it sits. Unfortunately my wife gets sea sick very easily, I sold my last boat (26 foot Carver) in exchange for this one because it is very stable on the water with the extended rear hull but even withthis we could only go during the week when no one else was on the lake so Im giving up my boat passion with great regret. This is absolutely the boat I want if I were able to keep going to the lake.
Also includes: Delta manganese anchor with 100 ft. line and chain rode, 6 newer bumpers (2 blue, 2 white), 4 dock lines, 2 power cords (25 feet and 50 feet), set of life jackets, marine fire extinguisher, water muffs for operating engines at home, and adapter to plug boat in at the house.
I do have a loan on this boat so will either need to see if we can meet at the bank (local bank) to get the titles or can provide a Bill of Sale and overnight the titles once the check clears.
Please feel free to email me with any questions at all. I also have many more pics just let me know which area you want to see. The boat is currently located at my home in Columbus, IN and can be seen here anytime, just let me know.
