Chaparral 2300 Sport

1990 23' Chaparral open bow; the good: new 454, Mercruiser bravo one, stainless steel prop, fairly new upholstery (no rips or tears), solid floor, newer trailer with surge brakes and an awesome top.The bad: new motor flatten a lobe on the cam on the initial start and is running rough just past 3000 rpm under load and is tapping at idle. The trailer does not match the boat so loading is a little difficult.Everything about the boat is lake ready, new starter, new bilge, new engine bay blow. I was fixing everything waiting for the motor to get rebuilt. Builder's guarantee expired before I got it running and I am done working on this one! With a little engine work I think this will be a great boat...
