Selling my rare 1961 18' Century Sabre wooden runabout. Great thing about this boat is it requires very minimal upkeep to still have a cool classic boat. It has a F/G deck with mahogany hull, transom and bottom. The boat was built in the transition years when wood was being phased out to F/G. The hull was stripped 2 years ago and completely refinished with Century stain and varnish and a fresh coat of varnish put on again this season. Bottom is in good condition and soaks up fine. It was sanded down and repainted 2 years ago and all underwater hardware resealed. Chrome is excellent, windshield is tinted glass and I believe comes from the Buick LeSabre, hence "Sabre". Floors are solid and have been just recovered with new marine vinyl. Upholstery looks to be original and is in fantastic condition. I have re-dyed some and they look great. Has a rear boarding ladder for access on and off the boat. Engine is a B/B Ford 352 V8 that runs great and we can idle around the lake at 600 RPMs for hours while not loading up. There is no rust or corrosion on the motor as it's never seen salt water. Retains it's original engine and trans oil cooler. Trans is a velvet drive hydraulic. I have installed two new auto bilge pumps, as I leave it in the water, battery, water separating fuel filter, shaft log hose, impellers and engine intake water hose. Gauges look great and all work fine except the clock. Trailer is in nice condition with no rust. It is a dual axle EZ Loader with brakes. I towed it from Eastern WA. fine but could use some new tires. Comes with a custom mooring cover that can be on while towing. Boat is a Fresh water use only. I just pulled her out of the water for cleaning. Only reason for selling is I am completing a 54 Resorter project and also have a 59 C/C resto mod racer I built. So could use the room. So it's a great family runabout that can be used now and enjoyed for years to come. Any further questions let me know. Boat is only available for pickup and will go over every aspect of it to buyer.
