Up for auction is a 1994 Century 2400 WA (Walkaround) (Serial # CGM00517B494) fishing
boat with a 225 TXRS Yamaha Outboard (Serial # 62JUL700152) on a Gil bracket.
The boat is 25' 3" LOA with an 8' beam. The boat/motor has ~575 original
hours on it. It should noted however, the
hour meter comes active when the key is switched on, we believe there are a lot
fewer hours on the motor due to many times leaving the key switched on when
fishing/trolling (idle or simply powering the electronics or other accessories). The
boat/motor weighs ~4,400 lbs. Draft is 20
up/32 down. Gross length of
boat/motor/trailer is no more than 34. The open deck size is approximately 5.5' x 5.5' (32 - 34 sq.ft.)We have
owned the boat for nearly 13 years, bought it from the original owner in
Florida (West Palm), and hauled it back here to Connecticut (2/2002). We have used the boat for recreational purposes on Long Island Sound, Rhode Island, Connecticut coastline, and Connecticut River (fishing and pulling skiers/tubes). When
we purchased it in 2002, it had 275 hours on the boat. The boat also includes a
2001 Magic Tilt bunk trailer (Serial # 1M5BA242711E64459) Model # TALS 2460 and the GVWR on trailer is 6825
lbs. The boat has been stored on
the trailer and never bottom painted. Bottom is in very good shape with no soft
spots. However, there is one small nick
on a front port side chine (see pic). No penetration
to the hull whatsoever. This is simply cosmetic
(2.5L x 1 wide). Last year we removed
all the hull decals as they were dated and fading. The boat
is equipped with a single 150 gallon belly fuel tank. The water tank capacity
is 35 - 40 gallons. She tops out at 40mph with a comfortable cruising speed of
28-32 pending POBs and gear). There is a large live well, two fish boxes,
tackle center, dry storage, ice storage and rod holders on the T-Top and
gunnels. There is also fresh and salt water rinse down and a bait prep station.
Cabin has room for a porta potty (not included), sink and V-Berth with rod
holders in the cabin. The cabin is water tight with a new hatch cover. There is
working front (1) and aft (2) spreader lights with anchor, roller, and chain. Anchor in the pics is in the up position
for trailering purposes. With it on the
bow roller, it will make contact with the trailer winch post when taking it
on/off the trailer. For working
electronics, the boat has a Furuno Fish Finder, a Garmin color plotter (with
Coastal New England Waters Chart (several years old and should/could be updated), and
an ICOM radio. I also have a brand-new
Raymarine SL72 raydome (Radar) and LCD helm screen that was never installed. I
would be willing to sell separately but this radar is not
included in the sale. We never installed
it but if there is any interest, we can have that conversation. It also has a four speaker stereo/CD player. It would be recommended that the CD is
replaced as it has seen some weather (works intermittently). There are full
canvas and side curtains that enclose the helm under the T-Top but there is no
aft canvas thus your fishing area is open. The side curtains are starting to
show some wear and there is one 6 - 8in split/slice in the isinglass on one of them (rear
left curtain). They could use a freshen
up though (wash/retreat for water repulsion). All zippers work but
the glass is starting to have some trouble seeing through (as is typical with older canvas). We didn't use it that much with the curtains
up (kept mostly in storage). Some snaps
are also in need of replacement. One port screen in the cabin is also torn and
needs to be replaced. The T-Top/Soft Top
canvas is starting to show its age as well and should be considered to be
replaced as some of the stitching is starting to pull through. The pressure water system/bait well all work
as they should. We are having the two helm chairs and the two coaming pads
reupholstered prior to selling. They show wear and torn in the pics (currently
off the boat). Those will be brand-new
as part of the sale. Presently, those are at the upholstery shop
and are being redone. Some of the
plastic drawer and hatch pulls are starting to show their age as well. Being plastic, some have cracks or pieces
missing due to sun exposure. All work as
they should but cosmetically could use replacement. There are
no known issues with the boat, motor, trailer. The motor is a two-stroke and
like most her age, she does smoke (nothing excessive) from time to time. Trailer has brakes on both axles and they are
surge. The motor runs strong with good compression (99 103psi on all six
cylinders). Everything works as it should. Upkeep to the motor has been done
yearly. The water-pump in the lower unit was replaced new last year. The
carburetors where all rebuilt within the last two years.Boat has been run on the water ear muffs
this week, starts andimpelleris pumping strong. Tires were just off and the beads
checked. We put tubes in two of the
tires. We have a spare to go with the
trailer. If you were going to do some
long-distancetrailing, I would recommend replacing all four tires or simply
carrying two spares. Its not an
immediate concern but one that I feel needs to be disclosed. We are
selling because the boat gets limited use due to schedules. Boat is located in Putnam, CT. We welcome an onsite inspection or survey. We would be happy to sea-trial with strong interested
buyers. I have tried to list the pros
and cons to the boat as I see them and be fully transparent in the listing. Nothing can beat an in-person inspection as
my opinion on some items may differ than yours!
Clear Certificate of Origin in hand. Please email Brian with any
questions you may have. I will do my
best to answer them promptly.
