Selling my 1955 Century Palomino 16' runabout. This boat is a real survivor. I bought it from a friend that was with his grandfather when it was purchased in 1955. It was always kept in a boat house, therefore it's never had an ounce of rot, none of the wood has ever been replaced. All of the upholstery is original, and in very good shape for being 62 years old. When I bought it, I repainted, and varnished it, then several coats of automotive clearcoat was applied, with the exception of the bottom. It was given a coat of anti gaul bottom paint that needs to be freshened up. The bright work was rechromed (except the Century logo on the drivers side). It has a broken C, and I had hoped to replace it, and the trailer hubcaps( I didn't have them at that time). The stainless was polished. A few things are not stock: the motor and controls are a 1978 Mercury, a transom extension was added to accomodate the motor, the dash is now mahogany (I have the original vinyl clad dash), the steering is a single cable gear drive( I have the original mechanism, but not the cables and pulleys), I added a sump pump, I built a rack in the rear storage area to keep gear from falling out into the framework, additional bolts and screws were added to the frame work because I just didn't trust the 55year old glue, and I put some guides on the trailer to help with loading. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have. The winning bidder will be responsible for shipping, I will help with arrangements as much as I can. Thank you for your interest.
