1963 Buick/Gray Marine 401 Nailhead (285hp)-- This engine was pulled from a 1963 Century Coronado that was repowered with a new 454 engine. It was last running about three years ago, and according to the previous owner ran fine, but with some heating issues. Velvet Drive 72c transmission was rebuilt four years ago. New owner elected to go with the modern convenience and better power/weight of new power. Engine and transmission in good working order, but obvioulsy needs to be checked and gone through to make sure all is fine after sitting for several years. We have not run the engine. It appears to be complete. We've had this engine in our heated storage building for several years, we're moving to a smaller storage facility and have decided to place up for sale some of our unused engines to save on space. These were a workhorse for Century during that period. As you can tell from the photos it's a beautiful engine, extremely clean, and has had a new carburator and some other items installed some time back.
I've had engine shops value the engine at $1.5k-$3k as is. I'd prefer local pick up (we can hoist on a truck or flatbed), but will crate up (for $250) for shipment if you arrange shipping. It currently sits on a dolly and can be rolled around, and will go with engine. I will store engine for two weeks for successful bidder. Check my feedback and know she's as described. Again, we have not run engine and make no warranties on the mechanicals.Good luck, and thanks for checking it out.
