VESSEL:
The subject of this appraisal is a 1982 Century Coronado bearing hull identification number CEBFR061M82D. Motor power is provided by a Crusader 7.4L 350hp, 8 cylinder, inboard gasoline engine bearing serial number 35379. The vessel drives through a standard inboard configuration via a hydraulic 1:1 ratio transmission.
Oil is normal with no water present
Exhaust manifold is out and needs to be rebuilt
OPTIONS:
The vessel is equipped with a teak full width swim platform and boarding ladder and a full snap-on boat cover.
Canvas cover is in excellent condition
CONDITION:
Examination of the hull found it to be original gelcoat finish with no visible damage. The hull exhibits minor osmosis blistering on the wetted surfaces, typical of vessels of this era in fresh water with no barrier coating applied. The blistering is cosmetic in nature and does not compromise the hull. The topsides gelcoat finish would benefit from a thorough reconditioning of the colored surfaces by buffing and application of marine wax.
The interior of the vessel was found to be in average condition, and as the exterior, would benefit from a thorough cleaning and preservation.
The propulsion engine was found to be partially disassembled, with the starboard exhaust manifold removed and lying on the deck. The marina reports that the engine experienced a mechanical breakdown and will require rebuilding. It was also noted that the steering wheel had been removed, but was lying in the vessel.
ANALYSIS:
In this case, the vessel is a prime candidate for a minor restoration to return it to its classic condition. The engine will require repairs to return the vessel to a seaworthy condition.
