Vintage 24 ft Offshore Race Boat

This boat was originally purchased in California, but has been locked away in storage since the 1980s.

I purchased the boat, pulled the heads and found the engine internals perfectly clean. I have either rebuilt or replaced the water pump, carb, alternator, starter, sea pump, and thermostat. Then I replaced the filters, gaskets, belts and hoses and all basic tune-up parts.The mighty 454 enginefired right up and has since then then always started easily ran terrific.

Note: the engine clock reads 152 hours, but I have no way of verifying the actual engine hours.

I have enjoyed this boat for two summers here in Arizona, but it is time to free upthe cash for other waiting projects.

The engine starts easily and sounds menacing. The engine runs cool, andthe oil pressure stays between 40 and 60 psi. No ill engine noises, smoking or oil leaks. The separate TRS transmission, Mercruiser outdrive and Hill 5-blade prop all work well together. Ultra smooth shifts with no vibrations while underway. The lights, gauges, tilt work, and the steering is fine too.

This is a built roller rocker 454engine. Itwas built by H.A.T. Racing in California, builders ofhigh endrace engines.The block is stamped with their ID numbers.

A notable vintageoffshore racer from Florida told me that thisnarrow 24 ft. hulland this race enginetogether have the capabilities of 80+ mph. I personally have not opened it up to full speed, I guess I'm just too cautious. I can however, tell you that this hull is solid as a brick in rough water.

If you savor originality, you'll love this boat's patina. It is very unmolested, and still wearing its original interior, which is still in nice shape. The cabin area is simply carpeted throughout. The paint has flaws, a few smallscratches, faded areas, but it still shows well overall.

Enjoy this boat "as is" for its originality, or restore it to your liking. Either way you have an investment quality boat that turns heads likeNO other boat on the lake. This classic boat is both beautiful and sexy from every angle.

An amazing sound system has been installed.

Included is a sturdy Pacific galvanized trailer with new tires and brake actuator.
