1996 Carver 500 Cockpit Motor Yacht.Read all descriptions.Lifetime opportunity project that is very easy to fix and to get million dollar yacht for half of its value now.This is not a hurricane damaged or submerged boat. She is usable now as it is with one engine.Here is a full story:I bought this boat as a project for use in Florida and Bahamas but ran out of time and not able to bring it to Florida until the end of the year.Boat hit a submerged object by port side prop while was underway. Propeller has no damage. Transmission case broke and shaft slid and stuck to rudder. Likely the transmissions gear with a coupling plugged the hole and boat did not sink and got to the marina on its own power, where it was raised out of water.Boat is in very good shape for 1996. All original gelcoat could be buffed to like new. Bottom is all solid with no blisters. Inside is clean with very few imperfections.Do not expect a brand new boat. Boat is in great shape for 27 years old boat. But with little elbow grease could be like new again.All fiberglass repair was completed by professional and is solid like a rock. Rudder installed and boat can be launched and driven to your location on one engine or can be used as isInterior is in very good shape with very few imperfections. All the systems work but a few little things. Electronics are dated but looks like working fine.Boat needs only new ZF301A2 2.901 ratio transmission and drive shaft installed. If you mechanically inclined - I already bought a 301 case and all the gears from inside look good with only surface rust. Or you can get rebuilt transmission for $5-$6K. I have one in mind. The most difficult and quite a challenge is to install the transmission. You need two very strong men as it weighs 190lbs and space in the engine room is very limited. But it is possible if you have experienceProp rudder and shaft already fixed and ready to install.Both engines run great and generator also. Engines have 2900 well maintained hours and start right up with good oil pressure. No hour meter on generator but it sounds very good. I was not able to check it under load. Boat is located in Carolina Beach, NC. Boat yard fee is $50 a day.If you have all the parts together, you can get it in the water in a week with a bottom painted.This is a $150,000 boat , that you can get for half of itThis is a very good project, that I was looking for a long time, but my situation forces me to sell it.Boat is USCG documented.I need to sell it ASAP.
