Caravelle Interceptor

I bought this boat back in 2017 after selling my Checkmate Convincor go fast boat. It had the 8.1 liter 496 Mercruiser Mag High Output just like this boat but was a little too big for our tight driveway. This 23 foot was the perfect downsize and is an absolute rocket ship with the 496 Mag in such a light boat. The 496 is combined with a bulletproof Bravo Three outdrive and high end counter rotating 28 pitch stainless props in perfect shape.THE BOAT CURRENTLY HAS A LOW 261 DOCUMENTED HOURS ON IT. This boat is turnkey, very tight and has been well maintained. Cosmetically it looks almost new and has all its original interior intact. I Was able to speak with the original owner shortly after buying this boat from a private seller (second owner.) The first owner specially ordered the boat with the 496 making this a very rare package. THE MERCRUISER 8.1 496 PRODUCES AROUND 400 HORSEPOWER and is still surprisingly good on gas.Ive owned 3 Interceptors and I absolutely love these boats. Ive had a 350 along with a 454 and the 496 as well. All 3 boats have been very good quality with very little issues at all. This boat is new enough to be in the wood free category. Everything is fiberglass and gelcoat composite making this a very solid, reliable, trouble free boat. The shape of the hull is my favorite thing about the Interceptor. It has a nice up to date sleek design that Ive only seen on the interceptor. It handles very well even in rough weekend waters on Lake Wylie. On a smooth day through the week it is absolutely INCREDIBLE how this boat goes on the water. It pulls like a freight train and handles extremely well. Ive never been brave enough to get the boat to full speed. There is Captains Choice exhaust as well. The boat sounds fairly tame in quiet mode but is a beast with the through hull exhaust switched on.THE BOAT IS COMPLETELY STOCK EXCEPT FOR THE K&N HIGH FLOW AIR FILTER, CUSTOM RECENTLY INSTALLED (2019) PIONEER AND KICKER BLUETOOTH STEREO, LED LIGHTING INCLUDING UNDER WATER LIGHTS, LED NAV & BACK LIGHT, OEM NEWER STYLE CHROME ENGINE VENTS ON THE STERN along with NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND UPDATED FACTORY EXTERIOR GRAPHICS.There are plenty of amenities as well. There is a full instrument cluster using high end Dress White Faria gauges and red anodized aluminum trim rings. Every gauge and switch is fully functional without any issues. All interior mood lighting has been updated with LEDs along with LED cupholders. The Kicker speakers are LED as well and have a remote for adjusting the colors. The interior has a very new and sporty look to it. There is even a small foldable metal step to aid with climbing out onto the top deck. Theres a large padded sundeck and swim platform with compartments and stainless steel ladder. The platform covers the outdrive while in the water making for a much safer boating experience. The boat has plenty of room for multiple passengers and a surprising amount of space under the rear sundeck, under the rear and side seats to place baggage etc.The cuddy is clean, comfortable and has a nice up to date look to it. There is a decent amount of space for two adults considering the size of the boat. There is a space in the middle for a porta potty as well. There are two opening windows on top making for comfortable overnight stays on the lake.THE BOAT COMES WITH A MATCHING ROAD KING ALUMINUM TRAILER WITH SURGE BRAKES. THE TRAILER HAS CUSTOM ALLOY WHEELS WITH TIRES IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. AN UNUSED SPARE IS INCLUDED ON THE TRAILER.This boat comes complete with EVERYTHING. Im including two boat covers, one is the factory Caravelle Powerboats red canvas cover from when the boat was new, the other is a nice aftermarket cover. I usually use it to preserve the factory cover. There is a tight snap on cover with support post made by Sunbrella for Caravelle as well. I just treated the top with water repellant so the top is water tight. The boat comes with a Bimini top to protect passengers from the hot sun even though I usually have it removed because I like the look of the boat better without it. Im including everything youll need to get on the water: Personal floatation device, 6 life jackets from West Marine, a nice fluke anchor with rope, fire extinguisher and several fenders to protect the hull when docking.Ive just done a thorough detailing to the boat including Zymol polish. The hull is shiny and in great shape without any scratches scrapes or damage. The hull is in remarkable shape overall. The boat spends a good bit of the year stored indoors and will spend a few months out of the year on our boat lift safely out of the water. This is a freshwater boat. The outdrive, engine and all metal components are rust and corrosion free. The sound of the engine is very impressive but when youre ready for some tunes, the custom stereo gets the Job done well. The Pioneer head unit is bluetooth capable and has a smartphone app for more adjustments. There is a KICKER multi channel 400.4 amp running 4 matching KICKER 6 1/2 inch drivers along with a flush mounted KICKER subwoofer by the driver seat. Of course there are two newer 900 cranking amp marine batteries aboard so you wont get stranded playing the stereo with the engine off. I was in the car stereo business for 19 years. Im very picky about sound This system is well balanced, clear and will play loud when needed.The only thing that I feel Caravelle could have improved on has been their graphic packages. My first Interceptor was built in the 90s and had purple carpet along with pink, yellow and purple exterior graphics. Wouldnt have been my first choice for sureThis boat had the 2005 Tribal graphic from the factory. I felt like it dated the boat. I looked at factory graphics from every year of Interceptor online. Go figure new graphics for the 2019 model were available and easy to order. I wasnt a huge fan of those either. Ive always liked the classic time proven checkered flag look. My favorite by far was the 2008 factory checkered flag graphic. I started researching on forums and found that this graphic would be IMPOSSIBLE to get. I checked with a few aftermarket graphic shops to see if they could duplicate it. No luck. I somehow someway got in touch with the right person at Caravelle and they told me that a company called Sharpline did their graphics along with graphics for other big companies like Ford and GM. Somehow someway my contact at Caravelle got in touch with the right person at Sharpline and they still had the file for the 2008 graphic. The question was could they do a one off run of new decals for my boat? They sure did and I was super happy to get my impossible to find custom (expensive) factory graphics. The installation is perfect and is lined up better than the factory wouldve done.You might ask Why spend so much time and effort and then sell the boat a few years later????? Well I just turned 50 and have had my fun going fast. Now its time to kick back on the pontoon and relax. Never wouldve thoughtI have clear titles for boat and trailer. No lean on the boat or trailer. I have the boat owners manual and paperwork along with receipts for maintenance and work performed. I have the boxes and manuals for the audio components. Maintenance is up to date with recent plugs, belt, fluids etc. The bellows and hoses look basically new. The batteries are freshly charged. The gas tank is 3/4 full of ethanol free 91 grade gas. I had Hall Marine go over everything last season. The engine doesnt use any oil and has excellent compression on all cylinders. According to Mercruiser OBD test results, the boat has had an easy fun life and hasnt been run hard. The boat is located in Charlotte, NC. I can show this rare, turnkey boat by appointment.
